How much does woo commerce cost?

I have made plenty of websites for myself and friends. But I have not had to deal with commerce. So I am learning before I start charging to create website for people.

1. I want people to pay for 1 service that I have. Is it free to do that with woo-commerce. Will I need to purchase something extra?

2. For my customers, for example a theme like this Wordpress Amishop - Responsive Wordpress Theme or Products – Sirol. Will all the functionality that is in this theme be included or will I have to purchase extra with woo-commerce

Woocommerce is a great free plugin for wordpress. You'll need domain name and hosting as normal and a theme.

There are a number of free themes available which do a good job and provide plenty of functionality. That said I'm a believer in paying for themes.

Away from the theme there are plugins that can add extra features and if you know CSS you can add extra code to the site. As with the theme many are free but some are worth paying the extra for.

Also sound advice for choosing which platform you are going to sell on. Think about what your costs would be to start a real brick and mortar businness - inventory, employees, rent, insurance, regulation costs. Compare that to using a hosted shopping cart that takes care of everything for you for less than $20-40/month.

Yeah, free is nice, but many of the security headaches and PCI compliance issues that come with Woo/WordPress aren't so nice. If you can't afford the very minimal investment in a hosted shopping cart platform, you already have doubts about it and aren't really invested in your business at all.

        Can definetly confirm.

WooCommerce is basically "free on first sight". However, you will see that you need quite some things later on, whether its technical/security stuff or features that you can hardly implement for free by your own. Therefore not few WooCommerce stores end up costing the same as Shopify or even more at some point.

To fully set up your Ecommerce site you won't need anything else. The Woocommerce plugin can do anything you want. I checked Amishop and it looks like it's compatible with Woocommerce.

So, stick with Amishop and charge for an Ecommerce site double the price you give for a simple site.

Thanks so much for your reply. I just linked to amishop for an example. but I am trying to decide between https://themeforest.net/item/fam-a-w...79853?s_rank=1 and this https://themeforest.net/item/sheila-...9740?s_rank=93

however the first link does not support wooCommerce but the second one does. Do you think it would be too much of a hassle to add woocommerce to the first theme.

Unless, you are acquainted with coding WP themes, I would suggest you to go with the theme that supports Woocommerce. In any other case you will have to work a lot to solve problems that will appear.

Also, in the choice of theme take into account its loading time. This will affect your SEO, plus it's the main problem I faced with my Ecommerce sites --people didn't wait more than 2-3 seconds.

Do you know how to optimize WordPress website loading time?
