Well, then you have a long and hard road in front of you - but at the same time one with a huge potential.

First you have to identify what the aim of your business should be:

    1. Clothing Reselling

Maybe you just want to import/dropship certain existing products for a markup. This is the route that the vast majority pursues. Its less profitable, usually less promising and competition is harder. But at the same time its WAY easier to start such a business and it requires less capital as well.

    2. (Fashion) Branding

This is a more advanced route. If you really decide to start an own fashion brand, there will be some risks, you will have to work your ass off even more, but it can be very rewarding in the end. If at some point in time your brand image becomes an asset, its something you can potentially make money with for years. Friends of mine started a clothing line around 5-6 months ago. They hardly spent anything on advertising, but by now they make around 1 sale per day (you might say this is not much but if you really build something from scratch you will see it is harder than it sounds. Plus, the profit margins are insane).

So find out what you want to do. I also plan to start a very in-depth video series about fashion branding on my YouTube channel in the next days, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChp...LzfNY87njGy-Ww

    Good luck!

It all starts with figuring out where you are going to get your products, what geographic region you will be selling them to and whether you are going to stock and ship them, use a fulfillment warehouse or dropship them.

Then, you need to do some research and see what keyword phrases you stand a chance of ranking for that get enough searches.

You can't even begin thinking about the website until those basic things have been done.

If you want to start a successful eCommerce business, the true answer is (as always): Hard and Smart Work.

In saying all of that, here are my top 6 tips:

    1. Sell something you have at least a slight interest in. (Something Legal)It's this interest or passion that will ultimately push you through the days of low sales or technical issues.

    2. There are a billion hacks you can use to make your listings rank higher, store look prettier, drop shipping run smoother - research and utilize as many as you can, they WILL save you thousands of dollars and a lot of time.

    3. Systematize as much as you can - the reason why Online selling sometimes fails, is because the sellers gets over it because they have to manage too many processes and it doesn't work out to be a very good $ per minute of work rate. Systematize and Outsource as fast as you can.

    4. The way to make BIG money is to constantly sell what people (the masses) are searching for. Don't spend hours of time researching products, just start stocking what ever the newest craze is. Use Trendosaur to see what the next top selling product will be and stock up on it. Trendosaur showed us the selfie sticks about 2 months before the craze blew up here in the US and we ended up making $65,000 Revenue in one month.

    5. If you haven't worked it out already, you will need SOME money to start an online store, ie, money to access a computer, purchase food to eat to stay alive to use the computer etc.

    6. Money doesn't make you happy. Meaningful interpersonal relationships do. (Nothing to do with starting a business I know, but I just wanted to throw it in there)

When starting an eCommerce you need to take into account is going for one specific audience from a specific geographic area as well as choosing a product which you know a lot about which you would feel comfortable going into business with, then after you would need to attract these through the use of promotions.
If you don’t publish constantly throughout your time advertising then you won’t go far and you would fail so keep posting and advertising on multiple different formats. Do research on where it would be best to actually sell your items, this can be done through quick and easy interviews.
Once you start to complete these tasks then you would be able to start expanding into websites etc and become much more successful.
