Dear Warriors,

A friend and I recently launched a dropshipping store on Shopify (https://friedkitchen.com/) and we got a single sale already, with some FB and Instagram marketing.

We want to make the site better. Your suggestions are highly appreciated!

      Thank you!

Will seriously consider showing our faces on Fb. (This may sound silly but I am kinda shy! Haha)

It seems like you are using the Brooklyn theme, I personally would choose another one for this type of store, but your overall store looks quite nice.

The top right corner is a little bit hard to read because of the colors interfering with each other.

In general: think more emotional instead of too static. People connect with faces, stories and nice pictures. Don't think that adding "trust badges" and some fake urgency timers will solve all your problems.

I know hundreds of stores having fake urgency, fake order notifications popping up and 20 different "trust" badges, yet didn't make a single sale. So obviously this is just a tiny part of the equation. People buy experiences (why many go with brands that they like), not the purely logical properties of the product. Your store clearly looks like one where you could achieve the first. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! We are working on blog posts now, which hopefully will connect with our visitors.

Is there a particular Shopify theme you could suggest for this kind of store?

So you basically used Shopify with Wordpress. May I ask who did you partner up with? Is the whole process of starting a dropshipping website hard in your opinion?

    Decent start.

There is much you could do to improve, here are a few issues:

    1. The About Us page is very important on an ecommerce site. People want to know who is selling them stuff. So, have a marketing story to tell, make it impactful, dont be afraid to go long-copy either (or, even better, video of owners)

    2. Product Images - you need a consistency across all products... currently you have a mish=mash of white-backgrounds, coloured backgrounds, some with models, some not, etc

    3. Promotion - your save $x button should be right next to the original price and not floating in mid-air

    4. Social Media - in the absence of visible owners, and often even when they are visible, people will check your social media to see if you are legit. You need much more content on your social media to look credible

    5. Trust - above all else you need trust marks, despite what others may tell you.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck with your venture.

Unfortunately I'm on the go right now and can't check the store, but everything that looks colorful and "playful" seems like a good fit for your brand. I personally like and use Brooklyn for more premium type of stuff, where I want to create a little "high class" type of impression.

It IS important, but cannot be created purely by adding "SSL Secured" or stuff like that. Most people have no clue what this even means. So while it makes sense to use these badges because they at least somewhat create the feeling of having some sort of security, personalized stores, professional presentation, information about the crew behind it, user reviews etc. are WAY more important. Here these badges can complement the overall trust them and give it the final touch.

We have run many successful repeat customer websites. Tweaks to the site, itself, aren't what drives repeat sales. If that was the case, nobody would ever return to Craig's List. It is your prices and selection of merchandise that breeds loyalty. Letting past customers know about new or complementary merchandise through Email - especially with a discount coupon - or having a loyalty rewards program can help drive repeat sales, as well.

I thought your home page was the most pleasing visually, perhaps because there is a lack of image consistency in the catalog pages. Have you given any thought to placing your items on sale in a separate category in the catalog drop down? I think folks might go straight there if they are particularly interested in sale items, rather than scattering them throughout the the catalog.
You do have some very unique aprons. Perhaps consider advertising those in particular, perhaps via a Facebook boosted post?
    Nice start. Congratulations!
