Hosting or Dropshipping?

Hi Guys,
I am busy planning a new venture, I do website design, SEO etc so it would make sense to start a hosting/domain reseller business as I can migrate my current customers and get new clients onto my site as well as of course advertising and make a monthly recurring income.

I am also interested in doing e-commerce dropshipping website

So my Q here is from people with experience, which would you start of with (at some stage I will probably do both)... and why?

  • The most natural thing would be hosting.

    I don't get the dropshipping part of the plan, though. Are you a manufacturer, too? Or, are you just trying to enter the same middleman business model that so many other "dropship directory" websites scam people with (a la Worldwide Brands)?
  • Drop shipping is a completely different business model from web design with its own unique problems -like dealing with faulty goods, goods that don't arrive and customers who return goods just cause.

    Do you have the time to set up a brand new business?

    Could the time and energy be better spent in growing your existing business?

    For me being a hosting re seller (or at least affiliate) is a natural extension of your current business - you could implement it tomorrow with little to no extra work.

  • Sorry for ther late reply but I decided on both, I am going with A2Hosting Reseller but mainly to serve my current customers, will expand at a later stage. And then my shiny new dropship site willbe ready in a month or 2.
    Busy times ahead, can't wait!

    to the op why not do both offer dropshipping and also offer hosting?
