Why don't customers just buy directly from AliExpress?

I know that there are a lot of successful dropshippers that use AliExpress and sell on their e-stores and they are killing it. I want to be one someday, but I just can not wrap my head around the fact that customers can just get what they want from AliExpress directly and save the dropshipper profit margin. This is like a barrier for me that keeps me hesitating from pursuing the e-commerce thing... Please help shed some light on this!

It is not even 1pm where I live and I've already made about $4000 in sales from drop shipping from Aliexpress.

    Here is the thing:

    1) Almost nobody knows about Aliexpress
2)Even if they do, most of them don't know how to make it work properly to receive the products fast
3)Most of the people that will see your Ad have no idea it comes from Aliexpress even though they know about Aliexpress
4)Most of them are too lazy to go through all the products on Aliexpress to find the exact same one that they want

For all of these reasons, You don't have to worry about this, trust me. Numbers don't lies

Get used to it. You have to test everything yourself.

Same with these infomercials you see on TV that seem so fake. Everytime I see them I tell myself ¨ Who is going to buy this...? ¨ But guess what, A LOT OF PEOPLE are buying it.

          I have a simple answer,
Almost people who want to buy something online, they search for the "Product", not for the "Store"

For example, if I want to buy a television, I will search and type "buy television" on google, not "AliExpress".

Then, if your site appears on the search result and I click it, you probably get the money

I would rather ask you how you sell a client that a product is going to take 3-4 weeks to arrive (even using ePacket...)

I am somewhat disappointed with aliexpress. I have ordered a number of items on aliexpress, and gave some stuff away, alot of it is junk, I gave a rope necklace to a friend, and it broke, how does a rope necklace broke, and whats worse, my friend wanted another one because the one she had broke, and she sent pictures....

I agree and have no doubts most of these people will fail because their betting system is flawed.

They're betting a supplier in China (wherever) will be legit. Good luck keeping a Paypal account intact (refunds, chargebacks, etc...).

What they need to be doing is testing their traffic source first. When they're ready to sell, buy in bulk at half price, have the product in house, tested and ready to ship.

There's a trend right now on this forum where folks want to avoid all the real work and find a miracle drop shipper. Dreamers.

Yes, they are being convinced by the glowing reports of huge profits for almost no effort.

They are blind to the risks of dropshipping from China, despite the numerous posts by people who have discovered the problems.

Your suggestion to buy in bulk at half the price is a good one. I would add that it is certainly possible to buy for less than half the price the dropship optimists are paying on the retail site Aliexpress.

The best way to do it is to test the market by drop shipping....If you know you can sell a lot of units, buy lots of units up front

I have no problem with dropshipping to test the market, provided the seller can be sure to find the exact same product from the real manufacturer.

Unfortunately, almost everyone will automatically go to Alibaba, thinking that the suppliers there claiming to be manufacturers really are. In fact the great majority of them are traders.

The result is that they will pay a lot more than they need to.

They will also believe the myth that they have to buy huge quantities to buy direct. I have taught many hundreds of people how to know which ones are genuine manufacturers, and how to get them to accept smaller orders at real ex-factory prices.

It is possible to buy a very small quantity from the manufacturers for testing the market.

Because they don't know how to select the good buyers and they don't know what shipping to use to make it work properly!!

This is why I don't worry at all about people knowing about Aliexpress

Simple, they don't know or care a lower price exist.

A lot of traffic doesn't do comparison shopping online, I know this for a fact selling on Craigslist. Buy on ebay in bulk, sell on Craigslist. The Craigslist traffic doesn't even attempt to do comparison shopping elsewhere because If they had, they would have found the same product at the top of Google search for half price.

    Buy low, sell high.

You are thinkin of you and people here. Maybe you can do it.

But MOST OF THE PEOPLE in the World, do not want to get mess in finding a reputable seller, learning how to choose, delivery etc.

They prefer buying with a click in a shopify account, which is inside Facebook, which has already a lot of trust.

Maybe they know about AliExpress but they prefer to buy not leaving fb, expecially if they're not tech.

AliExpress is widely known as a huge online trading platform where you can find practically everything. Nevertheless, customers looking for a specific product tend to place their orders on a niche site that is devoted to this or that particular product category. It can be explained by the following reasons:
    1. There are more than 100 million items currently listed on AliExpress. Therefore, it's not that easy to look through numerous product options and choose the one that fully suits one's needs.
    2. Niche webstores are made by people who are passionate and well-educated about this particular sphere. Therefore, in such a store customers find themselves in a friendly atmosphere of well-informed experts who are true fans of their own products.
    3. As the result, you can count on a high quality customer support - these webstores can quickly and fully answer all the niche-related questions if necessary.
    4. Nicely and professionally designed niche stores with affordable items easily prompt visitors to make a purchase. Impulse buying, in turn, boosts a webstore performance.
    5. Speaking of impulse purchases, it's necessary to say that the whole procedure of buying from our niche stores is really easy. They provide a great shopping experience since you can check out even without registering, and make a payment directly through PayPal. Even if customers don't have any previous experience of online buying, they will have no technical troubles at all.
