Finding a supplier or wholesaler for my niche

I have a niche picked out in the outdoor equipment world and am having a trouble finding a reputable supplier. I would like to drop ship for now but am open to other suggestions. I am afraid of signing on to something that I will regret. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: More info, I am in the US and will primarily sell to the US and Canada. If dropshipping is not recommend please let me know. I am a newby at this.

  • Simply looking online for suppliers using terms like "dropship" and "wholesale" usually results in very few reputable options. Whatever you do, stay away from ANY dropship directory.

    Did you take the first step and contact the actual manufacturers/brands first? If they don't dropship, they will usually supply you with information on who their big buyers/distributors are. Those distributors almost always dropship.

  • Oberlo + Shopify is a good starting point for drop shipping any class of goods.

    You can try alibaba for finding the suppliers. No doubt finding right suppliers is very difficult task.

    But alibaba is the place where you can still get some reliable suppliers for your business.

    You can also try "Baby Products" category for selling the products. That is still having few products which are still less competitive and having great sells in the market.
