Shopify store problems

Hi Guys,

I have a Shopify store that isn't getting the hits I would like and I think I have chosen the wrong niche-women's jewelry.

I want to change but I'm trying to work out if I can with Shopify right now. They seem to be saying that I can have multiple stores but £23 for each one. But I just want to delete this one and start again!

My question is, should I use WooCommerce as I think I could have multiple free sites with them, whereas Shopify is £23 per store (that seems quite excessive to me)
In fact could I delete my shopify and make a few woocommerce for free?

Any advice on this thanks

  • You'll save $10-15/month with WordPress/Woo (you still have to pay for hosting) but the headaches of security updates, broken plugins after those updates and PCI compliance will cost you far more in time than the very little bit you save.

We're talking about a max savings of 50 cents per day here. Honestly, if you cannot afford a dollar a day ($29 USD/month) to run a business' storefront, you should quit now.

    • No, you've misunderstood.
I want several stores and EACH store is £23 per month, so 10 stores is £230!
But with Woo I presume there's no monthly cost apart from hosting which I already have anyway.
      But thanks for your negativity!

  • I had my first dropshipping store on wordpress with woocommerce several months ago and it was a fail, however now Im trying again with shopify and I dont even think to go back to wordpress.
  • Did you took advantage of the Free coupon when you first bought your shopify store? It's no joke btw! $50 to $100 worth of ads can get you by your whole month for free!

If you want to go Woo, good hosting I suggest NameCheap, only 38.88 per year or if you want rock-bottom prices (although I heavily do not recommend it) go for BuyShared for only 15 per year...

  • You will need a shared hosting plan which goes for $4 per month. You may also want to use 1-2 paid plugins for seo and marketing so you total costs with WordPress will be certainly below $10 and yes for that you can have as many websites as you want - obviously within the boundaries of your hosting plan.

I run a hosting company - we call it webbhotell in Sweden - and we are able to dynamically adapt to your needs. That being said, I suggest to start with the cheapest shared hosting plan and as traffic hits your site we can extend. I also recommend to my clients to add Cloudflare on top of the hosting. They have over 120 data centers globally and can assure your sites to be blazing fast on a global scale. Wherever your traffic comes from really!

I can set this up for you for free

Let me know how you progress with your decision making process.
  • It does not really matter unless you find out why you are not getting hits. The odds are it is not because of the ecommerce solution you are using

  • WooCommerce is a free eCommerce plugin that allows you to sell anything, beautifully. Built to integrate seamlessly with WordPress, WooCommerce is the world's favorite eCommerce solution that gives both store owners and developers complete control.

  • Of course choose Wordpress, it is much cheaper, especially when you need several sites
  • A lot of free woo theme available to solve your problem. You don't pay any cents to create a complete woocommerce website. You can try storefront theme with woocommerceplugin both are free. Some other popular free plugins make your site mobile responsive and SEO friendly also. You just have to pay for domain and hosting approx 50$ for 4-5 estore. Thanks
