Versatile/Simple Woocommerce Theme

Hi there,

I am very new here so please let me know if I am posting in the wrong area or just doing something I shouldn't be! I am also quite an amateur when it comes to all things internet so very simple explanations will definitely help.

With that in mind, I currently have a very mix and match wordpress website using the Suffusion theme, filled with plugins and custom code to make it look as I want. I chose this because to be honest, I have never been able to find a theme as versatile as Suffusion, I am still amazed to this day it is completely free and it has allowed me to get the website looking exactly as I want, very simple, but does what is necessary.

The one problem I have with it, I have a lot of trouble getting woocommerce to work with it, many others do as well and, frankly, I think it looks awful when it is finally working. I have decided to find a new theme just for the shop part of the website, making it a separate website altogether, but to give it a similar layout, branding etc with integrated links in both so I can give the shop part a whole different set of marketing to the original website.

I have tried looking for a very versatile theme, or even a very simple one that I would be able to edit to look like (or similar to) my original site (keeping in mind how amateur I am at this), but I literally can find none. My website has a very simple appearance with a header image and header background (full width and going right to the edges, with a repeating image), a simple navigation bar underneath with the same background and a responsive theme, all done with Suffusions back end options and custom includes. I did add a link to the website here, but realised that I was not allowed to. I know this is a very old look for websites and these days most websites look much more flashy but for a rank amateur, this works perfectly for me and even a similar theme or one that I can at least get a similar header and navigation bar, with nothing else that works with woocommerce. I simply can not find one, paid or not. I find it very strange that all paid for themes still do not even have the huge amount of options that Suffusion seems to have!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am sure you can tell I am very new to this so any advice at all will really help me out.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Adrian

    Hi Adrian...

Just like you I am a beginner on the internet, and I have chosen to pursue eCommerce as my business model.

There is a plothora of wordpress themes out there.

I've tried quite a few, but now I have settled on the Kallyas theme at kallyas.net (it's a paid theme). Comes with 50 site theme templates for most niches.

    Well worth checking it out.

You can view my site, where I have used the Kallyas theme with the Main Demo template at luxwareglobal.com.

After stripping out/hiding unwanted elements, I have the site basics set up as I want them, integrated WooCommerce, Paypal Express and Stripe payment gateways, Aliexpress to Woocommerce (being the core items).

Still tweeking the setup, but it all now works, and I'm continually updating the my site's fuctionality as I learn more.

My site is a mixed product site, where I have started populating with product.

There is a bit of an ongoing learning curve to all aspects of the business which takes investment of time, commitment and money.

If I can offer you any more help, please initiate contact at luxwareglobal.com/contact-us-2.

    Regards,

    Bohdan

Have you tried Generatepress? It's pretty clean, and premium costs only $39.95 for unlimited websites. Some premium themes have licenses don't allow using it across multiple websites so yeah this is a good bang for your buck if you are looking for something simple

Mr Tailor is also good too, as well as Shopkeeper. if you want totally free, there's always Storefront or Optimizer.
