Hey, long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a client that's approaching 1 million per year with their e-commerce business. The websites built on Bigcommerce, and shes complaining about the rising fees of Bigcommerce.

What would be the least expensive option. Besides woocommerce which I believe would probably be best but she's extremely opposed to WordPress for some reason.

Suggestions anyone?

Use the search button and look up the threads about Shopify, Magento etc. One of them could be a big help to the business. One Warrior Member was using drupal here. Good luck in the search. Yes, eCommerce business is big now. A lot of peoples are making huge money with Shopify business, But one thing is your advertisement. A lot of people also lost thousands of dollars for Facebook Ads with zero results.

    How many unique products?

If your talking less than 50 than yes Woocommerce would be a good platform if you combined it with a Managed WordPress provider to look after it.

    Hosted Alternatives
    Shopify.com
    thrivecart.com
    1shoppingcart.com
    infusionsoft.com

    Self Hosted
    Magento
    Zencart
    OScommerce
    Opencart

Shopify or 3DCart would be the best. Unlike BigCommerce, they do not base their monthly fees on the gross dollars your store generates (as if BigCommerce had anything to do with that).

Oh, and I absolutely agree with your client. Wordpress is a horrible choice for a real business. Far too many PCI compliance issues, upgrades, plugins that break with every upgrade, etc. You spend far more time and lose far more money fixing those things constantly than the few dollars per month you save.
