Is the money in Shopify builing sites?

Hello,

I have seen a lot of Ecommerce products and info in the past few years. I have purchased a few products, and it seems everyone has a different strategy. I am wondering if there is anyone out there actually making money off their sites once the sites are built?

To be honest, I don't really get it? Why would someone buy something off your site, and wait 2 to 3 weeks to get their product, when they can buy it off Amazon ( maybe for a few bucks more), but have it delivered in 1 to 3 days?

If you are making money, how much are you spending on Facebook and Instagram ads? If one was to do free plus shipping, seems like you would have to do a lot of conversions before making it worth your while.

I see that you can have a site built on Shopify anywhere from $150.00 all the way up to $600.00, and even higher. Fiverr is now getting in on the program.

My question has always been, once the site is built, what next? Facebook ads to build up your Facebook pixel?

I welcome any input that is out there. Also would like more proof of earning's other than a photo shopped screen shot off a sales page.

Please enlighten me!

Thanks for stopping by :-)

One possible reason; because they can't get it on Amazon.

From what i understand, when building a shopify store you want to consider that very same question; "why would they buy from me when they could buy from someone else?". And usually the answer is to provide more value than just the product alone.

For instance you might sell guitar amps. Yes, someone may also sell them on amazon but what makes your shopify store more attractive is additional value in the form of auxiliary cords, instructional/educational booklets or videos on amateur sound engineering and setup, etc.

The way you differentiate yourself from big guys like amazon is to add more value. A typical rule of thumb is that products that are complex are great for the reasons I mentioned. You can include set up instructions tips and tricks and whatnot

Once your Shopify store is built (assuming it is built properly) you have to drive traffic to it.

I recommend Facebook ads to start. Start with Mobile placement to test. Start with a PPE ad and spend about $5. If the cost per click is below 0.50$ then delete the PPE and create a Add to cart ad and see what happens. Once you have 50 ad to cart, switch to Purchase.

  • hello,
1-people prefer less money & quality rather than time.
Aliexpress provides both(their products are cheaper than the products on amazon and quality is same).

2-the more ads you run(the more you spend) the more profit(sales) you'll get but the condition is you should first find the best product for selling.

3- i didnt like free plus shipping so i dont have anything to say about it.
