Hi, I am doing the 'Readiness Check' on Magento 2.2.4 and cant seem to change the folder permissions via SFTP Filezilla. I am hosting on a VPS with Vultr.com I dont have Cpanel....and use secure shell terminal server access.

When I try to change the perms using Filezilla, it says 'Permission denied'

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

if you know the active directory and have console access as long as you can log into the console as root or the owned user you should be able to just type use the change directory command then if you want full perms you can run "chmod +4777 *" the star is a wild card and will change the permissions of every item in the current directory if you dont want absolute root access refer to chmod +777 * or reference the chmod permissions table you can find a diagram on google images or just follow this link https://goo.gl/jYrD7H to a google search
