Not getting any sales - Dropshipping

Hello,
I've been advertising for almost a month now, have spend $800 on Facebook ads and 0 purchases. Total unique visitors are 18,200.

That's 18,200 people and not even one of them wanted to buy. There must be something wrong with me or my site. I'm using AliDropship to dropship from AliExpress.

For obvious reasons, I'm not going to mention the site here.

My prices are not expensive, sometimes $0.5 more than what Ali sells them for.
I've tried FREE + SHIPPING, I've tried coupons, I've tried cashback.

What do you think the problem is? Do you have any suggestions?

I think you're targeting to "wrong" target customers.

I'm trying to target the best way possible. But usually do Europe and US only, because I've had PMs from people from Africa that didn't know how to order or didn't have a bank card.
I try to target the potential buyer for those items I'm advertising, but sometimes can't get specific enough.

If you're targeting the best way possible and you're asking for advice, it sounds like you need to take the advice or continue to be content with the results you've already achieved.

Its hard to know the reason without knowing all the information.
    Possible reasons:
    - Your store is not well designed. Did you add security badges to the product page? Did you add a counter?
    - People in your niche Are not willing to spend money (Not a spending niche)
    - The product is not good enough, or was sold before by another store
    - Targeting is wrong.

I guess I forgot to add some details.
Website is using the Woodmart theme for WordPress.
There is a counter, countdown and "100 people have bought this" sort of counter.
It's a clothing store and I think targeting couldn't be easier.
For example an ad about bikini, I target Women - 20 - 40 years, Engaged Shoppers, US and Europe.
I've also tried cheap products, like $5 with free shipping.

Do not know why are you having too high exenses. To be honest there´s a lot you must do in order for your store to look trustworhty. You can get a trustworthy dropshipping store for about 300. Think about it ,also the domain name is not helping at all, people will never know what you are focused on.
To start over could be a good option and maybe partner with some one in another country in order for you to accept paypal and some other payment processors.

Wow, that's a lot of money to spend without a single order. Something's definitely wrong. Usually, it is either you are targeting the wrong people or you simply do not have the right product for a Facebook ad.

Contrary to all of the B.S. that the Ali/Facebook/Shopify gurus teach in their courses, being successful with that model is 100% about product. People never go to Facebook intending to buy things so you better have something they absolutely can't resist buying RIGHT NOW.

It's got to be something everyone is talking about or it needs to solve some sort of problem that is always on that person's mind or it needs to be something unbelievably cool that they nave never seen before and just HAVE TO have. A wallet, belt or jewelry doesn't cut it. It has to be something where someone says, "wow, I have to have that now!" And, it needs to fall in the impulse buy price range (usually $20-$40).

And, of course, as others have suggested, you need to make your website look credible and trustworthy.

Well, clothes aren't a thing someone would impulse buy, except something that would be really unique, I guess. I see one store in particular that is just crushing it, Zaful, I don't know if they're dropshipping though.
Thing is, I've had a post with 1000 likes (post engagement ad) and not even one of them bought.
I have a category called HOT, that sells hot products, like I've had an ad in that category with 2500 clicks, not even one sale, granted it was set to Worldwide and most of them we're from third world countries where it is extremely hot and this ad was for a personal cooler(those small boxes that recently became popular), not even one purchase.

Okay, so I've decided to reveal more details.
    Here's the website: www.shopifiq.com
Here's the "HOT" category: https://www.shopifiq.com/pc/hot/ - We've put lots of dollars in marketing these.
I have a plugin for abandoned carts and there are about 110 abandoned carts. So people added something to cart and then didn't want to buy. Shipping is free on everything so, that is not the problem.
    Precise facebook ad results:
    600,000 reach
    8500 unique link clicks
    630,000 impressions
    $820 total spent

Something fun: I chatted with a person for 3 hours straight to make them buy something they liked($4), in the end they didn't have a bank card and wanted to pay cash with Tunisian dinars.

There's your problem, you have absolutely no focus.

      You're trying to be Amazon.

Guess what, even Amazon was 100% focused on one thing (books) when they first started.

Bezos selected the name Amazon by looking through the dictionary; he settled on "Amazon" because it was a place that was "exotic and different", just as he had envisioned for his Internet enterprise. The Amazon River, he noted, was the biggest river in the world, and he planned to make his store the biggest bookstore in the world.

Focus on one thing/niche. Nothing else.

I have no idea who would buy a sexy dress next to an image of 4 dead fish cat toys. Nobody?

      Start over.

We're clothing focused, those HOT products shouldn't show in there, the cat toys were added a few days ago as a test for very specific targeting.
It's a mistake on my end, but we've been live for 27 days and the cats are there for 3 days.

          Whatever dude,

You've got headlights, phones, cat toys, ear buds, camera lens.

I seriously doubt you sell much of anything until you get the site straight and focus on one niche (NOTHING ELSE).

How many women buy Xenon headlights? What, 7 women in the entire world and none from your site?

          You're not even trying.

We always recommend a niche store but, again, there are all of these gurus out there that have convinced people to carry everything under the sun and to test them all until they find the winning product that works for Facebook ads.(Common sense should tell you what the best products are going to be for that.)

One thing is for sure. Your prices are WAY TOO LOW! Who is going to think they are getting anything of quality when the prices are so low? Most people will think that either this stuff is total crap or that it is definitely a scam to get their credit card information. I'd add $20 to the price of practically everything on this site.

Besides, can you envision any scenario at all where you could break even at those prices after paying for ads? I'm not sure a 25% conversion rate would get you to even. It certainly wouldn't lead to any profits (and you'll never get close to a great conversion rate when the place you are advertising is not someplace people go when they are looking to buy things).

      Well, that's an interesting point.
Prices were at least x2 higher on all products.
They were lowered, because I thought that's why there were no purchases.
I'll go with a mix of high and low prices, just in case someone wants to buy cheap.

EDIT: About those "tech gurus", I've watched a lot of those webinars and they're basically ripping everything off, advertising that they made $720,000 in just Q4 is not something light.
I've tried some of their strategies though and there have been good results, clicks, add to cart, but no purchases.

First, your prices are too low.

Second, I do not see an About Us page on your site.

These are issues that will affect the customer trusting your store.

Third, FB should be done last after using ppc to make sales and gather data.

FB ads is not easy, it is the most difficult to master. It is contextual and people are not really thinking of buying the product at that particular time.

Your Audience has to be very accurate, and also your ad copy.

Look at your Fb ads data, are you at least having add to carts?

Since you are having add to carts then your issue is definitely you store trust factor or some issue they are having while checking out. Also, your product descriptions could be a factor, with over 18,000 clicks to your store and only 110 add to carts. If this was my store, I am very sure I would be making sales within 3 days.

I had a look at your site. I agree that things (dresses) at 5 dollars are CHEAP.

You think that's the problem? My country doesn't support Paypal, Stripe or any other payment gateway. Only one that is connected to all the banks in here.

As a result of this, should we write a much more forgiving(to the customers) buyer protection? I'm afraid to not sabotage myself with that, but I guess it could work.

Paypal isn't the reason you're not getting sales. Some folks will want Paypal but you not converting 100% of your traffic has nothing to do with Paypal.

I know PayPal isn't the full problem. Could you click initiate checkout and then place order just to see the payment processor? I think it's pretty dull and there's no option to edit the looks of it.

I think you're making the mistake of believing that numbers can purchase what you have to offer. But a number is an inanimate object. It cannot do anything. I never saw 18,200 do anything. But I learned that building genuine friendships with human beings 1 to 1 leads to sales, profits, clients and customers.

I'd focus on creating something helpful and bonding with human beings 1 to 1. Sales will grow for you.

Aside from the things already pointed out, why would anyone buy from you and know, with 100% certainty, that they would receive whatever you're selling?

    You have no trust factors.

Now for what others have pointed out:

you're all over the place in a bad way
the site doesn't look like there's a company behind it
there's no address, phone number, etc.

Also, on your contact page, you have this:
    [krystal_contact style="style2″ address="orders@shopifiq.com" email="info@shopifiq.com" contact_custom_id="krystal_custom_css_1203079219†³]

Drop shipping sounds easy with lots of $$$

But the truth is its a lot of hard work even if you are doing dropshipping

Sticking to selling products for affiliate commissions is much easier for $$$ if you compare the both

You are so off the mark - and don't seem to be grasping what people are advising you. I also think you are targeting a demographic you don't understand.

If I go to a website through an ad and see "women - 176 products" - I'm out of there. If I see a $5 dress I know I'm on a scam/spam/low-quality-product site. If I see a "countdown" in an FB ad I'd never click it

You have $5 dresses and $4 jewelry - and then $40 jeans for men with poor images and no brands or sizing information. No return policy or shipping info listed...but every category features 'how many' products you want to sell me.

Don't spend more money on ads for that site - you need major changes if you want to sell anything from there.

...when dropshipping you can get as much as you can sell.

So - how much can you sell????

trapatalce hi I am Lee Holdsworth from ppvguru I own approximately 12 stores and have partnerships in approximate another 8 most of which drop ship.

I can give you a couple of easy pointers.

    1. I am from the UK and your store is in US dollars. 90% of English people will walk away from this store as will a lot of europeans because of the currency issue on your store.

    2. Targeting USA is quite expensive and more than likely would not be profitable as your prices are very low.

    3. I have had stores on Wordpress and kept putting off shopify due to the monthly cost and I preferred self hosting. However I did a follow along on the ppvguru forum on two new stores which had identical products and shopify sold about 3 times more due to the checkout experience being much easier. It didnt take me long to migrate all my stores over to shopify.

    4. I actually sell some of the products which you have in your store for 3 times the price which you have in your store. You have not done a great deal on the descriptions of the products. You need to put a twist on them and target certain people from a particular niche. Targeting just bathing suits and shoppers is impossible with a small budget on a new store. This will only work on a seasoned pixel which knows who to look for. You have products from various niches and it looks like you have had a go at quite a few of them which will not give you a steady flow of customers in a particular niche. On a new store pick one thing e,g, bracelets and run with them until you have sales without confusing things with phone cases. Treat your pixel like a new born baby it has to grow and learn.

    5. 85%+ of people on facebook are on Mobile and will visit your site from a mobile. This means that the link to your product in the store needs to be in the top 3 lines of you adcopy for it to be seen. Most of yours are not visible on a mobile unless they click read more.

    6. Your ads... well look like ads. You have very little interaction from the customers - you need to ask them a question e.g. What could you photograph with this lense? or make an announcement "We are pleased to annouce these bracelets are back in stock. Limited quantities avaiable." It looks like you have read some adcopy from an ebook and just copied it if I am honest.

    7. Your images in your ads are cropped due to setting them up in the adcenter rather than creating a post then using the post to advertise the product.

    8. Videos sell better than static posts and they are cheaper. Many suppliers will send you a video of the product if they dont already have one on their description.

    9. Have you set up the campaigns as Purchase conversions or something else?

To be honest I could go on and on about common mistakes you are making but the above may help you to get some sales if you put them right.

    Hi trapatalce

I think I found the reason

    I made a test and add a product to cart. I went to the checkout page and got a warning ;

"There are no shipping methods available. Please ensure that your address has been entered correctly, or contact us if you need any help."

Then I returned the cart page and clicked the calculate shipping button then returned the checkout page but still couldn't succeed to purchase.

I think that's why you can not even make a single sale.

    My advice is;

    1) Make easier checkout page. Remove calculate shipping button and remove the warning text I wrote above. For that, select Free shipping feature on your shipping settings for all products.

    2) Use a header on your homepage and write a text like "FREE Worldwide Shipping!"

    3) Use a checkout address suggestion plugin. So, the customers can write their information easily and correctly

    4) Change other things recommended by friends above like price strategy etc.

    Good Luck

      Hello,
Which product did you add to cart? I need to fix that problem, because it's not like that on most products.
      Calculate shipping removed.

There could be several reasons like :

You're not using the correct conversion objective - Are you using WC Purchase objective?

You're advertising worldwide, which sometimes can get you extremely shitty traffic..

    Etc etc..

Tell me more about your targeting..

      Hello,
I've tried conversion ads, but they didn't convert anything.
Worldwide can sucks sometimes, but when advertising for example a mosquito killer, it's good if traffic comes from Africa, no? They have the most deaths related to mosquitos.
Clothing I advertise to US and EU.
I had cryptocurrency related t-shirts with specific targeting(Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cryptocurrency).

I NEVER advertise to Africa. The Spending capacity just isn't there and people don't shop online without cash on delivery.

So even when advertising to worldwide, exclude the following

Africa, India, China, Pakistan, Russia, Korea ( Both ).

My friend in my honest Opinion it is very important to do your homework first rather than throwing your money down the drain. Have you every wondered what is facebook ? Its a social media platform where people are socializing with each other correct ?

If you're selling products e.t.c i wouldn't recommend facebook, there might be few niches out there that might work on facebook.

If you're selling products, your best bet is none other than Google Adwords, if its too competitive then go for the long tail keywords, but definitely Adwords.

I feel like it's hard to promote Aliexpress junk on Adwords. You compete with the big guys there.

I used to own a Ali Express dropship store in the fishing niche and left it at that with zero promotion but somehow a few customers managed to find my store and ordered some tackles. My guess is that what they ordered was quite expensive if purchased from the US and that they were not readily available. Just my experience. I have since sold the store.

It'll be good to test out the niche (product range) by trying these :
    1. Start off with Affiliate model - lowest risk and no capital required (and lower profit margin probably) since our job is just to, technically speaking, refer.
    2. If traffic/conversion proved feasible, then start dropshipping (with higher profit margin).

It may not be a good option to start "testing" with paid traffic like FB ads; with paid traffic, you'd also need to perform split testings and monetise ROI (profit vs ad spending) closely.

IMHO, apparel is one of the toughest niches for e-commerce

Have you tried offering fast shipping? That's what Walmart/Amazon/eBay are all shifting focus to right now. Free is important, but quick delivery gets conversions across the board. We've seen buyers are even willing to pay more for products that have fast shipping tags on Walmart Free 2-Day Shipping program.

    Dude, I checked your website.
There is two things that you need to keep in mind.
    1. Don't sell those products which people can buy from somewhere else online like amazon or ebay or prefer to shop offline.
Before buying any dresses people need to check size and only then they can choose it confidently.
    2. Your product should be very unique and should not be saturated. Do some product research first only then put it in your store.

I won't suggest autodropship with aliexpress or somewhere else. Please try to find a supplier from aliexpress or any other marketplace and direct contuct with them and make a deal that when you will get any order then you'll forword that order to them and they will deliver the order on the behalf of you. By this method you can get higher margin rather than autodropship. I follow this method and i have my supplier. Hope you can be benefited by this strategy

Hey man! I remember when I spend £1000 of my student loan and only got 2 sales.

    The reason?

Choosing crappy products and even worse audiences.

Get the right product and the right audience (also a good picture helps P.S. buy what you are selling and take photots).

I used product finding sites so I could test winners and found a few that worked really well for me.

Be sure to view your shopify website on mobile devices and desktop to be sure everything is being seen properly. Be sure that your Checkout page and payment methods are set correctly. Do a fake payment (test payment) in the shopify backend.
I can't remember exactly how to do it off the top of my head. Do it though to be sure everything is working.

Examine your pixel data to see what facebook events have been triggered...try running conversion objectives for purchases, add to carts..

The problem over here is product research. A lot of other people have given valid advice.

I would focus on that here.

You're trying to be all things to everybody. Niche your product & give them a reason why to buy from you - with a story that people will relate to.

Getting 18200 unique visitors and not having any sales is certainly a problem. Here are some possible reasons (Checking analytics in details can help a lot in removing these obstacles) -

    - Ads and landing pages are not in sync. There must be high relevancy in your ads and landing pages. Whatever you are promising in your ads should be reflected on your landing pages.
    - Not targeting the right audiences via ads. Try to target by demography, geography and interest. Being the business owner you must know about your ideal customers. You need to target them only for better conversions.
    - Problems in website like navigation, slow loading and not having a clear messaging can also affect sales. Try to find out where your users are leaving the website from? What pages and products are having maximum bounce rate?
    - Pricing can also be a concern. If users will found same products in less or even same pricing on other more authoritative websites then they will purchase from there. Try to adjust pricing a little bit (As much as you can afford). Also be 100% transparent in any additional costs like shipping and or taxes.
    - Lack of trust. Sometimes people don't purchase products from a website due to lack of trusts. You need to show them that your website is 100% genuine and takes care of quality standards. You also need to show that transactions on your website is highly secure. Show some security badges.
