Hi! My name is bash and I'm new here!
I'm starting my way as a dropshipper on aliexpress and have one big question.

I want to send a products all over the world but different countries have different shipping cost!

If my item is cost me 10$ and I want to sell it in 20$.
1. Someone from Brazil will buy the product from and will pay me 20$
2. I will buy the item in 10$ but suddenly I will find out that the shipping to Brazil cost extra 10$ dollars meaning I will lose money.

How can I make sure this scenario would not happened? (and I don't think that checking the shipping cost of each country and make different item price for each country is the solution....)

THANK YOU for your help it means a lot!
bash.

      Tnx ruby for your response!
So for every product I need to check which countries have free shipping and decide which on I should put i n exclude list?
      This sounds exhausting!

Usually most dropshippers limit their shipping countries to the ones that have epacket OR you can just use the standard china post shipping method which will take about 60 days but is very cheap.

In addition, you can limit your sales to countries with free shipping.

You can always price your products differently depending on your buyer's location.

If you are working with a local distributor/manufacturer, then you can act as "the middleman" and integrate the sale while taking a cut without any shipping fee expenses.

I believe the concept of dropshipping is acting as the middle person between manufacturers and customers in their area with reduced dependence on actually having to ship the products yourself.

You are right I don't need to ship but if I price the product in 10$ and suddenly the shipping cost will be 20$ so I will lose money.... Just because you don't know who is going to buy from you and from where ...

That's true. I think you have several options:
        • Use an IP detector: You can ban certain countries (namely higher shipping cost ones) from using your services. You might cut off some potential profits, but it also helps you concentrate on highly and best-profitable countries.

Get in touch with your host to know how to set this up.
        • Have your customer shoulder the shipping costs: It's a bit of a downer, but I think if customers from far away really want your product, you must let them shoulder the shipping costs instead.

You need to update the payment method for those countries you are going to sell. It can be easily done if you have a website built on the Shopify platform. Or you can just visit and find other solutions there.

You can also ban a country from visiting your website, if you don't want to deal with that country....If you don't have much knowledge of banning a country, please ask your webhost, they will guide you.

Good luck with that! There are few products that cannot be purchased from multiple sites online. The days of customers paying higher shipping costs are numbered - because they don't have to. They can go elsewhere and buy the same product with free or low cost shipping.

One thing you need to do is to read osme of the expert threads on dropshipping and on using AliExpress that are on this forum.

Yup. Same thoughts as mine. Listed that as the last last last last thing you'd want to do

Loved that AMA with ImportExport. He answers you in tech detail. I think this'll give you a definite answer Aviram.

You really don't need to ban countries. You just have to make sure that they are not listed in the dropdown menu of places you will ship to when they get to the checkout page. This is a simple thing to do in your shipping settings.

More important, you really do not want to ship to every country in the world. There are many countries so fraught with fraud, you would never want to take orders from them. I'd stick to the main countries that have major populations that have money, spend money online and do not have major fraud problems. I'd start with these countries and consider adding others, one-by-one, later:

    United States
    Canada
    The United Kingdom
    The Republic of Ireland
    Australia
    New Zealand

    and later ....

    Netherlands
    Norway

That will give you more than enough people to sell to that actually have money to spend and are not in countries that are known to have a very high incidence of fraud.

One at a time, I would add them with caution after starting with the others. You'll run into more fraud with some of them.
