Does anyone have any recommendations for definitive book or resource on buying a website?

Something that explains how to analyse the various business models, technicalities, mechanics and moving parts of what makes a website an attractive acquisition proposition.

I don't know of a book but you should be able to find all the information you need between google and the forum. There are a lot of things you need to know or look for but just familiarizing yourself with basic business principles will go a long way.

    - There a lot of books on starting an online business but I haven't come across one for buying an existing.

Thank you. I was hoping if all the info was compiled in one place, it would have been a huge time saver.

Where are you planning on buying the website? I know flippa has a good reputation and shopify also has a marketplace for ecommerce sites.

Flippa recommends a 3rd party evaluator to conduct due diligence and verify numbers etc.

It's important to do proper due diligence but I'm not sure you need books on how to do this. I wouldn't overthink it too much.

You can also search this forum for previous threads on the topic as well.

The one that Flippa has partnered with is Centurica. You can google them independently as well if you want, but you can also access their package details in the help/support center on the Flippa website.

Thank you very much. i dont have any store in mind right now. I am just looking at various options of getting into the online business realm.

I figured if I am go the route of buying an existing store, I should at least read up on how to do due diligence.
