Returns with AliExpress

So I'm kind of confused. When someone buys a product on your Shopify store, and your supplier is through AliExpress and they request a return (if you offer it), how does that process work? Is it all handled between the supplier and the customer?

It depends on what you are selling and your actual costs for the product and shipping. In most cases, the products cost so little, it is not worth even dealing with.

We'll usually have the customer return it directly to us (they pay the shipping) and their refund is the amount of the product less our actual shipping charges. This is dependent upon what the return policy of your website states. Then, assuming it is not defective, we'll just wait for someone else to order it and ship it directly to that new customer.

Sometimes, it's just not worth the hassle at all and we'll just tell the customer to keep it. We'll refund them less our actual shipping costs (again, because that is what our website policies state).

Unless it is a very expensive item, it normally costs you far more in time and money to deal with returning things to Asia then what your refund from the manufacturer will be (they do not refund the shipping costs, either).
