Hi, everyone, I have a website selling jade products, I have over 600 products, most of them are similar, I can describe my pendants from different ways, but for my bangles, they all looks the same, some of them come from one mother stone, they quite the same except The inner size, The have the same material, same color, Same shapes, I had a search that people said that we needed to make each description unique, it's very hard for me to do so, English is my second language, The most thing giving me a headache is each product needs fill in one keyword when I filled them in, some descriptions made no sense.

I saw some of my competitors did the same as the developer suggested(focus on the web content and blogs only, products can be the same), they put a form describing the attributes, they all the same except the sizes and weight.but they still ranking.

should I do so? I'm worried google will consider it as duplicated content. any suggestions are appreciated, thanks

If they did it - and it worked - why expect a problem if you do the same?

There is no way to create 'unique' descriptions of products that are basically the same - that's fact.

Use the forum search in white toolbar above - and look for 'duplicate content' and you'll find many threads that will explain why it's not an issue.

First things first... you have to understand there is NO PENALTY for duplicate content. It simply wont rank - again NOT A PENALTY.

So the developer ( understands this - no penalty ) suggests to focus on content. This would be a correct strategy. You are looking at the Micro "this specific shoe"... but open up for a moment and think Macro and consider how many Size 12 men's shoes that are red, are for sale on the internet right now. understand?

Product attributes are duplicate by default. A Nike running shoe size 12 Men's in red will have the exact same attributes as a Reebok running shoe size 12 Men's in red. Make more sense now?

Don't worry about the "Attributes" and as the developer has stated focus on the content related to the product.

    Hope that Helps!

Hi thanks for your reply," content related to the product"means description? Does that mean the hundreds of bangles need different descriptions for each? even they are so similar?thanks

I am getting the idea that you are creating "Product Pages" vs "Content"?

A product page would be something like: ( https://themes.woocommerce.com/store...power-blender/ ) this is an example page for WooCommerce Storefront theme.

Content would look like: ( https://themes.woocommerce.com/store...-in-ecommerce/ ) again a Woocommerce storefront example

Using the product page format you are not mixing an amount of "Original" content with the obvious and unavoidable duplicate attribute content.

So you are selling "Bangles" you need to create "Content" based on an attribute. Lets say "Wood Bangles" and you will have a page explaining the many woods that are used and examples and links to more product specific pages IE "Product Pages". Not the greatest example but you get the idea: ( https://www.brighton.com/category/36/1/bracelets.html )

        that help?

Yes that's helped me a lot thanks very much and what I'm thinking now is create some product page just list some attributes for each product, they must be very similar but that's OK, on another hand I will create some content page which for explaining my products and gave it to some internal links to my categories as a blog, that will enrich my website contents for Google index, is my understanding right? thanks

Hi, I have another question, with the product pages,do I need to use one keyword each product?thanks

The product page will be a specific long tail keyword term - But honestly this is the last thing you should worry about... this is the page all of the duplicate attribute content will be on. you need to focus on CONTENT that creates a flow of traffic that you then send that traffic to the product page. You are going to have lack luster results trying to get organic traffic to product pages.

Go back to the original post where you say " I saw some of my competitors did the same as the developer suggested(focus on the web content and blogs only, products can be the same) "

I think you are not understanding this concept. you also say in the original post " they quite the same except The inner size, The have the same material, same color, Same shapes "

So you want content based on "COLOR" a page like this: ( https://blog.9gem.com/meaning-gemstone-colors/ ) as an example. I would go as far as writing a piece of content to attract readers / traffic / potential buyers for EACH color seperately

Why are there different inner sizes? write a piece of content about that and send the reader to specific pages that display items with a specific inner size. Again I would write a piece of content for each size specifically

Materials are kind of like colors there are different meanings with this as well. Some materials ground people etc. Do some research and create nice informative content and then guide the reader to the different materials your bangles you are selling are made from. and again write a piece of content for each material specifically

Shapes as well... ovals and circles and triangles and squares and whatever else... there is content to be written about each shape.

When it comes right down to it THIS is where you will find success. These are the pieces of content that return the most on the time spent. THIS is what will separate YOU from your Competitors.

            Hope that Helps!
