I am looking to start a business online to sell T-shirts but don't want to invest much in the beginning stage. I don't own a printing machine as of yet as it is too expensive a investment initially. How do I go about it?

    Hi Swapnesh

You start off with Print on Demand using Shopify, Redbubble, or Amazon etc.

    Here's the rundown:

    1. create your brand identity first (too many tshirt brands that have no background story or purpose. you need to develop this first)
    2. create the visual identity (this is colors, logo, aesthetic, style, etc)
    3. build designs (no point in building and paying for the site before you create tshirt designs)
    4. create a print on demand account (printful, culturestudio, etc) and upload your assets onto different clothing, add your profit margin, etc.
    5. Create a shopify account and integrate your print on demand account to sync your products
    6. create an instagram account and create some initial promotional content on there that builds a "vibe" or aesthetic around your brand.
    7. run some growth hacking on the account to start building some organic engagement and buzz - this would be using something like Ingramer.com
    8. NOW you can start running ads after you've started some momentum and built some social proof for your brand

after that it's just about tweaking ads, creating culture around the brand on social and increase cart value.

    best of luck!

First of all you need to create your brand with a clear idea, your logo and add your "something special". T-shirts are pretty simple product, so you need to create the reasons why customers should pick your product.
The most effective and cheap marketing channel is social media, so start from Instagram, FB, TikTok and Pinterest

Use a marketplace like RedBubble when you're getting started. I made the mistake of investing in my own website for a t-shirt business. I made more money on RedBubble and Zazzle than I ever made on my own site.

This is a tough biz, so don't expect to make a lot of money.

As suggested by users above, going for platforms like Red Bubble will be a great idea. If you have a very tight budget and limited resources then what do you think about dropshipping T-shirt business?

Dropshipping will save you a lot of money and time. All you need to do is create a wordpress website which is very cheap and then create content related to your niche (...may be fashion or something like that...), build some good traffic and then start the dropshipping business.

Honestly, I don't even like to respond to newbies anymore.
It just seems like a total waste of time unless their question
could help others. It's discouraging to me that people don't
seem to bother to return with further input or participation.
I don't know what has happened to this forum but it's sad.
