Where to source designs for apparel?

Hi all,

I'm looking to source some designs for custom apparel. Specifically, I am looking for pattern designs (e.g. stripes, polka dots, carbon fibre, camouflage etc). I know that I can hire designers from Freelance sites (edit) but I was wondering if there are good and recommended sites where you can acquire these kind of patterns for commercial use?

Any pointers would be welcome!

    You say for custom apparel but sounds as if you are looking for fabric designers. If that is the case, Freelancer or Upwork would be the places ot start. There are ads for fabric designers leading to those freelance sites.

    Hi Kay!

    Many thanks for the response. I'm not sure if it is fabric designers, because I'd be using digital printing to impose an image on existing apparel. Do you know if there is a distinction?

    You can source all kinds of pattern designs from image stock sites. For example, if you go to Pixabay (pixabay.com) and search for "patterns" or "patterns stripes", you should get a range of options - all copyright-free and OK for commercial use.

    No - I don't but I do know designers who do all their work now digitally.
