Letgo and Offerup Ecommerce/Local Marketplaces Coming Together Pretty Much Destroyed Both Companies

Both Letgo & OfferUp Affordable ECommerce and Local Marketplace applications were extremely useful in their own ways unique ways. They were set to shake up the big dogs like Craigslist and Ebay. But then one day they decided to become one application and combine their marketplaces under the OfferUp brand name. That was the straw that broke the camels back. Now "OfferUp" is falling apart in every way, extremely glitched, and a scammers paradise club.

Do you have superior alternatives to an Application like Offerup?

    Facebook marketplace always worked much better than OfferUp or Craigslist for selling used items.

      Sorry Dave. But after Facebook in fact Approved my Paid for Ad, in 2 days they got back to me, After they HAD in fact approved my ad, they said the ad had been taken down. The reason for my previously approved ad being taken off was: "The ad was not completely in compliance with Facebook policy..blah blah blah, and that a partial refund was coming. All 3 attempts to get the actual reason why my ad was taken down only led to 3 identical form letter/emails from Facebook merely stating what I said above. I found out the hard way that Facebook's so-called "Support Department" was nothing more than an Artificial Intelligence Robot! NO Human beings with a First name even replied! I've tried all the rumors on how to either sell on Facebook, or convince people in Facebook groups to at least look at an offer page. Dave, Facebook has just NOT been the bank account filling Godsend that I've been told. Good luck to you Dave.

        Our experience with Facebook Marketplace is consistent with the vague, random disapproval of ads as well. I don't believe they anticipated the quick sheer volume of ads being posted there and invested their support dollars into AI bots. It's not like they care about customer ratings knowing their classified ad competition is basically only Craigslist for non-real estate niches.

        What makes that even worse is the extremely demanding, instant gratification nature of Messenger leads. They expect immediate responses to their questions any time of day or night. The threshold for them manually reporting and getting an ad deleted is very low versus other platforms. So, you have 2 ways that your ads can be removed with zero recourse for either option. Hopefully, this will change over time but hasn't done so in the past year.
