TikTok Shop has fully rolled out to US customers, with the goal of integrating commerce and content consumption.

This new feature adds shoppable videos and live streams right into the "For You" feeds. With 150 million users in the US, this is a good start.

Apart from in-feed videos and live streams, users can also look for new products using the search bar within the TikTok app, and filtered results to Shop.

Are you a US customer AND using TikTok? Chime in.

A great platform, for sure, for young people who don't have a ton of money. Don't count on it working well at all if you are selling high ticket items that older, more typically affluent people can afford.

I try to avoid at all times being political, but I do have to add that conservatives, in general, won't touch the site.

Like all things advertising, each platform has its pluses and minuses and TiKTok definitely is about as targeted and polarizing as it gets, as far as ad platforms go. In other words, know your audience and whether or not your product/price/target audience is the right one for TikTok. Otherwise, you could be pouring your money down the drain because somebody told you it works great for their completely different products/audience.

conservatives, in general, won't touch the site.

Not sure how accurate that is - but what IS true is that federal workers are not permitted to access TikTok through their work devices. That should give others pause - but doesn't seem to be the case. Tiktok is proof that if an app is entertaining enough - the public will access it without concern.

The thing about TikTok I find troubling when it comes to government stuff and all the talk...

is they complain about it because of the Chinese connection, and I can understand somewhat where they're coming from.

But, Google and Facebook are more aggressive when it comes to tracking every single thing a person does. And we all know security breaches are becoming more common these days...

a government agency or person using either of these also opens themselves up to an invasion of privacy that most of them don't even recognize or want to admit.

So, it's kind of a little bit of hysteria and a little bit of not admitting the full story.

As far as TikTok being profitable...

they've made more this year from in-app sales, with fewer subscribers, than Facebook, X, Instagram, and Snapchat combined...so there is some money there for marketers
