Shopify + Syncee for dropshipping. Is this a good combination?

Hi everyone!

I am starting a new dropshipping store and have been doing a LOT of research on my own and using AI partners.

I bought a Shopify subscription and finally decided to use Tradelle for sourcing, product & market analysis, and fulfillment. After signing with Tradelle and paying for 1st month I found that they do have a few products in my niche, but not near enough and they lack many of the traditional products which are related to this.

Such is why I'm thinking of switching to Syncee instead: Massive selection, ability to vet suppliers by location, etc. etc.

BUT, here's the thing: This store is only going to offer 10-20 products ever, maybe less. It will be very tightly focused in my niche (Same industry which I retired from in mid 2024). I am building a real brand and trust.

The mission of the site is to genuinely help people via useful information, helpful guides, real success stories, interaction with me directly when needed, and finally hand-picked and vetted products which are really good, useful, and support the site mission.

From this store, I would like to make a net profit of ~$2k/mo. at around the 1 year mark, which I think doable with due effort.

So here is my question: Does anybody here have actual, real experience with the Shopify + Syncee combination?

Are/Were you successful? Can it really work? Thank you for your thoughts .

Well, let me make this more of a general question:

My requirements for my store are: Suppliers must be USA or Canada based, products of good quality, good fulfillment rates, profit margins averaging around 20% or higher.

Any ideas from REAL experience? Thanks!

I have real experience dropshipping, but not with a
Shopify, I sold various products on eBay years ago.

Dropshipping is a hassle because you still have to
deal with complaints, refunds, returns, etc.

You can't tell your customer the thing was shipped
by somebody else, it's all your responsibility.

I do not think this setup is a good idea because the
products seem inferior and there's millions of other
      people with Shopify stores.

Also, 20% on a dropship isn't worth the bother,
especially on low ticket items because you would
need to sell a boatload to make a decent profit.

You could even lose money after you pay all the
service fees to Shopify and the dropshipper.

If I were you, I would find another business model
besides dropships especially anything tied to a
      Shopify store.

You would be better off setting up a website and
pushing Amazon products, at least you could pick
higher end products and you would not need to
deal with any of the customer service issues.

Get a book on passive income and find something
else or ask ChatGPT to devise a better strategy.

Update: So I pretty much abandoned the idea of Shopify + Syncee. Cancelled my Shopify trial and decided to go back to Wordpress & WooCommerce because I'm more comfortable with creating & customizing my own sites as I've done in the past. Shopify was too limiting for me.

As to Syncee, I might use their service at some point if I dabble in dropshipping on a different site but for this store I've decided to manufacture & sell my own products. I had actually done so before, from 2015-2021 but had to close shop in late 2021 due to other commitments.

I still plan to open a tightly focused dropshipping store also, now on the back burner.

    It's all good! .

If you can develop your own websites, you should definitely
consider affiliate marketing for long-term passive income.

Once you get them all set up, they don't require maintenance
besides making sure the programs that you linked to are still
      operational.

Having your own product line is great as well, but if you do
both your products and a few affiliate sites you will have at
      least two income streams.

Also, if you decide to do dropships you can contact various
manufacturers and suppliers directly to see if they will fulfill
your orders. I used this method before dropshipping was so
prevalent. I found it more profitable to deal directly with the
source than going through some middleman.

      Good luck to you!

Very good and thanks. Agreed about working directly with manufacturers. In fact, I did contact one who is based here in the states and does have an established dropshipping program but they wouldn't even talk to me as a beginning operation. I actually kind of expected such and will reapproach them if/when I have numbers.

Regarding affiliate marketing, good idea . I've never ventured into that realm but I can see the potential.

I'm off to find and dig out my drill presses, drilling jigs, milling machine, and saws from several years ago. Time to get back to it

I had the problem of being the beginner that nobody
wanted to deal with but I kept contacting people until
          somebody gave me a chance.

Instead of emailing I would fax a letter along with my
business documentation, and eventually I got great
          companies to work with me.

Persistence pays off, so just keep going through the
business directories, like Thomas, make calls every
day until you get a deal going.

As to the heavy equipment, it MIGHT be time to relax
          and do something easier :-)
