Looking for the perfect ecommerce wordpress template...

Hi,

I'm struggling to find any real professional looking ecommerce/shop templates, specifically for Wordpress, and would appreciate any suggestions from people who are working with something they're really happy with...

Support by the developers of the template is critical, and if he/she is also open to customizations (a button here, maybe a widget there), then even better!

Thanks!

As someone who has set up WordPress-driven stores for clients, I have two pieces of advice:

    1) Use a simple, professional-looking premium Theme.

    2) Use the best eCommerce Plugin you can find. You most likely need something that will not just hook up with PayPal/2CO (or whichever you use) but one that integrates with your autoresponder service like MailChimp or AWeber, so that you can send out follow up emails with post-payment information (download links, expected shipping times, or whatever suits your business).

Thanks - and good point about linking up with the autoresponder! Would you recommend any plugin in particular?

That looks good - I'm going to give it a try. (I'm not 100% impressed with the one I've been using.)

@sbucciarel - Do you know if WooCommerce integrates with AWeber/MailChimp?

Don't know. Didn't watch the video ... on slow Internet connection so I don't watch any videos... but if you want a maillist form on it, I'd just put the form in a widget on the sidebar or code in a post. No need for any special integration.

I don't anything that integrates with Mailchimp. They don't like affiliate marketers.

Hi, Templatics got a couple of rather nice WP e-commerce themes. Also check out PremiumPress.

Sure. MailChimp isn't big on affiliate marketers.

The reason why integration with an auto responder is important for people who are selling something like an infoproduct that they created is this:

The ideal process of buying and delivering a downloadable product is this sequence -

    1. Buyer clicks button

    2. Buyer is taken to payment gateway

    3. Immediately upon payment, buyer is automatically added to AWeber/MailChimp list (AWeber insists on a confirmation email being clicked before buyer is truly added to list)

    4. Buyer is taken to 'Thanks for purchasing' page, which may also contain download links.

    5. Buyer is sent a 'Thanks for purchasing' email, with download links (possibly encrypted links)

    6. Buyer is sent follow-up autoresponder messages to help them use the product, request a testimonial and/or feedback, offer an affiliate program, etc.

    ---

That's the ideal way. If you were to just use a normal PayPal button, it ends up like this:

    1. Buyer clicks PayPal button.

    2. Buyer goes to PayPal site, goes through payment process.

    3. Buyer is hopefully redirected to your Thanks/Download page (but may not end up arriving there.)

    4. If buyer does get there, hopefully you can entice them to fill in yet another form, so you can get them on your mailing list.

    5. Seller gets lots of emails like "Dude, where's my download links?" etc.

    Does that help?

I use DLGuard for payment and delivery. It integrates with most autoresponders, plus delivers product after payment. It doesn't matter what theme I use, DLGuard handles the whole sale process plus signs them up to my list.

    Hey

Most of Themeforest corporate WP themes can be applied for an e-commerce site.
