Questions for Ecommerce Experts...

Hey Warriors, I'm thinking of creating my first ecommerce site. It will be in the furniture business. I've got a few great dropshippers lined up, but to get started, they want a copy of my resale license.

Do they mean "retail"? I'm confused.

I live in the USA (Kansas to be exact) and have always run my businesses as a sole proprietor.

Can some of you that are e-commerce experts help me in regards as to what I actually need to get started? LLC, DBA, etc etc ?

Thanks so so much!

A resale license if for Tax purposes and record keeping. In Kansas it costs about $100 bucks. If you sell less that 4 million a year you can be exempted from collection of certain taxes.

Just a quick word on setting up a ecommerce website. Look for a all in one solution whenever possible. I don't build them myself but use a firm that has all the backend support, SEO built in and unlimited bandwidth. The biggest issue most people face is mixing design and ecommerce carts that don't end up working well or pay a low monthly fee (like volusion) and then get hammered in cost when they exceed bandwidth.

    Best of luck
