I have a listing which I am the 4th position and want to rank #1 but the first 3 listings are from the same seller who is a top rated seller with 99.6% feedback and 2000+ and I am 100% feedback and only 14.
#ebay #rank
  • What type of listing format do you have? I'm very experienced in this.

(I have an eBook that can show you how to do so-- if you're interested in it, PM me)

I suspect he didn't mean he would send his book in a PM.

As to your opening question, you could read this document by Ebay on its search engine: eBay Seller Information Center: Selling Resources

Frankly, even though I have read it five times and devoted endless hours to trying to adhere to their concepts, and even though I am a Top Rated Seller with 200 or more items up every single day, there are many days I cannot even get on the opening page of the search results for my category.

Key concepts include Top Rated Seller status, free shipping and effective search engine terms mapped to the pages. Beyond that, who knows?

Hey I know the secret now I believe. Maybe I should create a WSO. I was able to rank number 1 with (6) positive feedback.

Anyone who thinks they can get to the top of eBay search listing using some sort of trick is fooling themselves. One buyer can ruin all that work in about 30 seconds!

    eBay success is actually simple....

Offer quality merchandise and 1st rate customer service at competitive prices. Offer free shipping on all items and be sure to offer a 'get it fast' option. Offer a mix of listing in both core and BIN. Ship immediately every time. The #1 way to keep getting top rated in listings is bending over backwards to satisfy the customer. In the long run it doesn't matter so much were you fall in the search. The traffic you will get from positive feedback on a quality product is it's own sales team.

    Good Luck!

    • I agree with BigRog.

You can't do it with 'one trick'.

In fact, it's a series of tricks.

And at its core, great, debilitating, customer service is a huge deal as it gets you your top-rated powerseller badge.

But even with this, you can still have a lower ranking on your items - because they have a rule about 14 day shipping an 1 day handling times so that your listings will be ranked as top-rated items AND be qualified for the 20% discount.

At that point, you have to ask yourselves, how to I rank above the 'other top-rated powerseller' accounts?

      Even with a low feedback?

(By the way iLuvCash - I'd never list items with a feedback score < 10. Buy some 1 cent PHYSICAL items to get a feedback score to 10 before you start selling. It's not a rankings thing to much at that point - it's a 'pshychology of buyers' thing.)

It all goes to the views-to-actions ratio.

You have to have a high views to actions ratio - if you don't know EXACTLY how much your item will sell for BEFORE you list your item (and it's format) then you will be hard pressed to rank above your competition as well.

And yes - you CAN do that. I've been teaching this method for years.

      Simple as that.
