Warriors, I am putting the finishing touches on my new (and first) eCommerce site and I need some advice regarding in page SEO.

I would like to add a few keywords to the title page and I am not sure how to do it. Opencart provides the means to add keywords to each product page, but I am not sure how to do it for my site main page/domain.

Any ideas? Is there a good SEO module I can use? Something similar to WordPress AllinOneSEO plugin?

Thanks consultsoft. I am already using a main keyword on my title. I was hoping to find a way to add multiple keywords to my domain/main page meta tags. I tyhink that the only way is to use a SEO module. I found many that claim to do such thing but it is very hard to determine witch one to pick due to the limited information on each of these modules.

I was hopping that somebody here will recommend a method and/or a module that they used successfully.

Also I read in another forum (OpenCart forum) that keywords in meta tags are not useful anymore but I am not sure if this is true.

Thanks you all for your recomendations.

meta descriptions won't help your onpage optimisation but you still need to fill them in for best practice user experience, also other search engines apart from google still rely on metatag descriptions so still a must do, see Google webmasters tools

Let me know if this is what you are talking about. You turned on SEO friendly URL's but it is still giving you the funky product pages right? You need to make sure you rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess. You can either do this via FTP or put a support ticket into your host and have them change it for you. Until you do this, the SEO friendly URL's wont show up.

As for keywords, meta tags, etc, you should be able to do it out of the box with each product when you are setting it up. Let us know if this is what you mean.
