Because of all the great advice I got in this thread ---> http://www.warriorforum.com/building...g-traffic.html

I decided to make some changes to my new rustic furniture website.

I just got my logo concepts back from the fellow warriors at www.logonerds.com
and man am I impressed!

Can you help me choose which one or which combination to use for the site? Niangua Furniture

They did a good job on all of them. I think I like 3 and 6 the best for your site.

I really like #3. A tree coming out of the couch.. that's epic.. All very nice though

I think number six best matches what you offer AND it features the name most prominently.

We all naturally want to include a symbol in our logo, but the fact is unless you have the advertising budget to firmly associate your name with that symbol in people's minds, it's never going to happen. Small businesses are best served by logos that make the name the star.

You are probably already planning to do this, but just in case.... once you have a logo in place, use the colors it contains for your navigation to give the site a unified look.

      Concept 5 hands down.

It features an original, brandable mark.

      Thanks for everyone's responses.

I'm surprised at the number of people who are liking concept 6. I think that was my least favorite! Although, I do see the point about the prominent name.

I'm liking 3 and 5 the most at this point, but still looking for thoughts.

If we go with 3, we would probably change the couch (since we don't make couches) but I'm not sure what would replace it.

Maybe a table under the tree instead of a couch.

Concept 3 would be my second choice. You could change the couch to a dining table with a chair at each end. Changing the name from gray to a wood/earth tone would butch it up a bit. It's a little effete right now.

You could even center "inspired by nature" under the name and have tiny tree roots coming from it. Really play up the treeness of the concept.

          I like 1, 5, and 6.

I like the boldness of #6 which is masculine and gives a sense of permanence. However, it's rather generic-looking.
I like the logo of #5. Very worthy of building a brand around, bot not particularly bold.
I like the open airiness of #1. It also gives the viewer a sense of the breadth of products available by giving 4 examples. In that sense, it conveys a lot of meaning.

The problem with 6 is that it lacks any discernible logo. You could take the logo in 5 and work it into the left portion of number 6 instead of the capital N. But of the three, I think #1 is the best as it is right now. I really think those tear-drops are visually captivating. So I guess I'd combine 5 and 6, or use 1. Putting those two side by side, I'm not sure which I'd prefer. I think it'd be a tough call.

I don't like 2. It looks to corporate/slick. 4 is decent, but doesn't really jump out at me. My problem with 3 is that it seems to speak only to hippy-types who are going to buy something based on its ties to nature or whatever. I get that aesthetic, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy something that had that aesthetic for its logo, but I think 1, 5, and 6 would be much more appealing to the typical person who is looking for a product without regard to eco-concerns... without alienating people who are looking to support your underlying message.

I am with you, #3 and #5 are my favorites. I like the clean and simple lines and design.
#6 is actually my least favorite, it just looks too busy for me and doesn't grab the attention.

Take a lot more into consideration than what meets the eye on first impression--
Is it a logo that fits well into a site header and a stationary header.
Is it a logo that is not distracting with too many elements.
Is it left side weighted so the eye does not have to make a decision where to look.(remember, we read left to right
Does it fit "rustic" or is the design too "fancy smancy" for the product.
Would you spend more time on trying to figure out what the logo is trying to convey or do you go directly to the name--and remember it.

Simple clean, uncomplicated----my vote is #4.

Thanks to everyone who responded! And especially to those who gave detailed opinions. It was very helpful.

After discussing it with all the pertinent people, we have decided to make some revisions on #3. Including:

    1. Changing the couch to a table and chairs.

    2. Trying out a more "horizontal" version of the logo. Maybe drop the tree between the two words.

    3. Font variations.

I'll post the final version when I get it all done!

    Thanks again,

    Ben

I'm with Wiredtolive, I like 1 and 3. People like smooth, and rounded, first. But Ms. Russo makes a great point, also: Does it fit the rustic theme? You always have to ask, "who are my clients? and what am I trying to convey?" But, I could be all wroooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg:confused::c onfused:

Concept 3 is definitely on the right track.

Great website by the way, I really like it, the niche, the concept and the design.

I voted for concept 2 but also like concept 5. if your furniture is aimed at a very middle class customer then I feel that these 2 concepts would best portray what you do.
