Domain would be GoDaddy.Com and hosting would be HostGator.Com

Wordpress is a blogging system that you can install once you have hosting and a domain name. Hope this helps.

I wish I had seen this before I started building sites.. all of them are currently hosted with godaddy and it works but there are times it is so slooooow. Plus it costs more than hostgator. Once my hosting runs out I'll switch my domains.

Do a search for Godaddy in Main forum and you will see alot of Un-Happy Godaddy customers.
I'm very happy with Go Daddy, actually. I've been using their services ever since purchasing my first domain years ago.

I would go to Namecheap and Hostgator. Go to Google and type in Namecheap Coupon. It's not a big saving but every bit helps.

You will have to install Wordpress through your cpanel and then you are ready to start.

Don't use Goddady. Terrible company. Two words: MySQL databases. 'Nuff said.

HostGator was sold to EIG, which is not a good company. HG as been going down since.
And it's an EIG company -- there's 50+ brands of it, all pretending to be different. But it's not.

WordPress is okay, but I don't really care for them. Their forte is freebies, not the paid hosting.

    There are better hosts.
Stablehost, for example. Great host for newbies! Cheaper, too.
If you insist on "unlimited" space, then at least use somebody good like Site5 or Arvixe.

For buying the domain, use Namecheap.

    Good luck!

I use GoDaddy for cheap domain names and Media Temple for hosting. They're not the cheapest but they rock for service and customer support.

Are you using (mt)'s grid? If so, had any issues?
I keep reading a lot of negatives about their grid. Going down and slow, mostly.

      Great VPS host, however.

I prefer namecheap instead of godaddy for registering domain names. Definitely do not host your website with godaddy.
