Do you have any mommy blogs you recommend for a review/giveaway? I get contacted often from bloggers looking for free stuff to review/giveaway and I have agreed to do it before. It is typically a good boost in social media following. However, most of the bloggers who contact me have blogs that are pretty much just review/giveaway blogs without a lot of content(they typically have high traffic, but I'm realizing thats not everything). Therefore the people going on those blogs are usually ony looking for a freebie....which doesn't convert well. Anyway, if you know of some good Mommy Blogs with actual readers and they also offers review/giveaway, I'd like to hear it.

You have to be really careful with this. I remember when I was working with a PR firm and the mommy blogger craze was growing and peaking, we would get all kinds of requests for freebies and some of the bloggers were downright entitled. PR firms didn't really fully understand internet PR and would pitch all the concepts to their clients.

Very very very few had the ability to influence sales. If you do it, look at it from both angles: if you don't get any sales was the price you paid for the link worth it?

That being said, like anything, if you target your review/giveaway to your target market, I see nothing wrong with doing it in soft doses. On another note, why not run a sweepstakes on your facebook page giving something away. You can promote it virally and it builds an interested fan count and email list (You can pull emails from the campaign).

Thanks for the replies, I agree with you guys that I don't think many of those blogs will bring sales in. What is the best way to bring new traffic to my facebook page if I give something away there? How would I promote this virally as you mentioned? That would be great, and I like that I can build more emails. Thanks

Use a third party application provider to create our sweepstakes. This is a good one here but I have used others as well.

Sweepstakes Plugin

What is nice, you run this application on your fan page and determine what information people have to put in. You also allow extra entries if they share and others sign up through their link.

It actually keeps you in compliance with Facebook's TOS. You can run sweepstakes but you are required to follow your rules including using an authorized third party application. That one will work for it.

Well remember you don't want to be selling all the time. Out of 10 posts, 8 should be value, 2 should be sales. Any more and you will get people dropping off like flies. The nice thing about a sweepstakes is you will get semi-interested people, the viral nature and the fact if they like the product, they will be back. There are also some nice bribing plugins you can use too.

The company sends out a daily email of all its promotions which helps. Other then that, as people sign up for your sweepstakes they have the options of sharing and getting extra entries if people sign up for their link. LIke anything, its not set it or forget it, you do have to promote it out...
