What are the fastest things to sell on ebay. I have had an ebay store but it takes months to sell anything. I think i need to get into a different market place.

  • I think you're asking the wrong question.

A better question would be: "Why aren't my eBay items selling!?"

When items don't sell, it's usually between 1 of 2 things.

    Inadequate research or inadequate listings.

When you create a listing, you really need to make sure it is priced correctly. Most people think that on eBay, in order to sell it quickly it needs to be sold for a LOW price - this is a huge misnomer.

In fact, it just needs to be sold for an APPROPRIATE price - it needs to be sold at a price people VALUE it at. You want to make sure that it is sold appropriate to the MARKET WORTH - not a penny more.

Then, what you want to is you want to RANK you items high (I have my 3 rules of eBay that I teach to get items ranked high) There are many things that go into the eBay algorithm, but the biggest one is the views-to-actions ratio.

THEN, once you're RANKED high, you want to then FUNNEL that traffic to be a buyer. You can't just have a listing for the sake of having a listing. You have to convince people to buy from you.

Once they're at your listing, you don't want them to leave. You have to ENGAGE them. You have to give them a great title, picture, a great shipping policy, return policy, and a phenomenal description.

In your descriptions you don't want to describe your item. You want to SELL it - and then you want to SELL YOURSELF (Too many people forget this)

You want to sell the item AND yourself. Sell who you are, why you are, what you are, your shipping policy, return policy, customer service policy, and the AMAZING customer experience that your buyers will have with you.

THAT will increase your conversion rate.

It's not WHAT will sell fast. It's HOW to sell the items you have quickly.

First, let me say that I find the advice from auctiondebteliminator to be some of the most astute and sound advice on the forum, and members are fortunate to have such guidance.

From my point of view, I begin at the next stage, and that is, that in answer to your question about wholesale, I teach how to safely locate reliable manufacturers who will supply small quantities at genuine ex-factory prices.

This is where your profits begin. You must buy right, that is where the profit is made.

As for the importing side, ignore people who say it is too complex. I teach how to make it a walk in the park.

  • Thanks ImportExport and Timpears for your kind words!

I find the Warrior Forum a great place to just TEACH what I have come to know, and I appreciate your plugs!

I assure you, I don't plan on going away anytime soon as I also find it a place where I can learn as well.

I don't claim to know everything - that's for sure. There are some things I hand around the Warrior Forum to maximize my skills in (for example, CPA is one of my BIGGEST weaknesses that I just am wanting to learn more about)

One thing I wanted to mention about Big Money's comment:

There is no doubt that Jordan's and high priced sneakers sell well on eBay (of course you have to verify this in your research per item on their market worth) but there is no way that any reputable supplier will source real, authentic Air Jordans.

    Nike will not do it.

Source them from China, and you can rest assured you'll be violating parallel trade laws.

I know you don't know everything, but you know a lot and we can all learn from you. I have, and I have only known you (sort of) a short time.

As for the Nike tennies. Air Jordan Retro 13 'He got Game' 309259 104 w Receipt Size 13 | eBay And they are just one of many doing this.

So how are these folks doing it, and this one was just one of many. I know I used to sell Microsoft Office on eBay, and eBay called me on the phone and told me Microsoft was on their ass to get them to take my auctions down. I used to sell 100 or more of them a week. About $6,500 a week profit. They told me that Microsoft lawyers would be knocking on my door pretty soon, but they never did.

Anyway, before I got aside tracked, when I was a young nipper (small child) back in the home country of England, I used to go to the city flea market of sorts. Merchants would come and display their merchandise on the city booths that were set up. Many wojld sell brand name merchandise apparel from a store right across the street,k Marks & Spenser. The labels were all cut through so the logo was kind of unreadable, but we all knew where they came from.

So I wonder if you could find the Nike manufacturer, could you buy those shoes with the logos not there or destroyed somehow? Not that I am real interested in doing this, but just curious.

Buy a bunch of ebooks and load them up CDs. I've also seen people selling courses on several CDs for up to $40.

If you combine the expertise of ADE and importexport then you will do well. No BS, data driven advice and good sourcing. Can't go wrong with that combo! You'd pay big bucks for those guys' advice you get for free elsewhere.

redlegrich is absolutely right in his post above. I want to adopt ADE and keep him in a back room to coach me. His information is just a gem. Don't get me wrong, importexport has some real good information too. I have both of their information reports. I am really fired up after reading their stuff. I actually think I can do it. Ah BS, I know I can do it. All I have to do is get off my procrastinating ass and do it.

If you don't have their reports, grab them. I know ADE has a free one, so money isn't an object. I think IE has a free one too, I don't remember. But dig in and invest in yourself and get their paid for information too. It is well worth way much more than it costs, and will save you time and money and reveal way more information than you can imagine.

Does this sound like a commercial, I imagine it does. But you notice I am not getting any affiliate commissions to say this. I just telling you the truth, so you can prosper too.

  • I do appreciate the plugs, Tim.

I do teach a very data-based approach - and really, in the IM business - or really ANY business NUMBERS make all decisions - including market analysis, profit analysis, supplier analysis, product analysis, and on eBay - what format to list in, etc.

I'd agree that ImportExport is also very good and adept at what he teaches. Very good knowledge from him.

I too, teach ways of product sourcing - taking a simple data-based approach.

An art sadly being lost today. Too many people are 'guessing', 'rolling the dice' or 'jumping in to the game' without knowing what they are doing.

Or worse yet - buying programs that claim to do the 'research FOR them' and saving them time.

    Good luck with that.

Whoever knows the most in any negotiation wins.
