We are looking for a Magento Affiliate Extension and reaching out to fellow WF members with any first hand experience.

Any extensions you recommend and why?
Do you pay cash (PayPal) commissions or do you give store credit / points?

We are looking at building traffic, business and partnerships. Any insight? Thanks in advance.

    We use an affiliate extension for Magento Called Affiliate Plus. For the price it's a good deal and works as advertised. I researched this and it's probably the best affiliate extension available for Magento. Another related extension is called Sweet Tooth which is a loyalty program extension. It is also highly recommended if you need it.

    I would also like to recommend Affiliate Plus mainly because it encompasses a wide array of options for your affiliates to gain commissions from banners to refer a friend messages. Also, on a web developer's point of view, it's open source! You can hire a developer to extend the features of Affiliate Plus to customize to your unique business model.

    With regards to paying cash or giving credit, this will be totally up to you since it leans more on business practices and user choice. You can even see if you can implement both since your store products would interest some affiliates

    If i recall correctly Idevaffiliate has a magento integration. i have used idevaffiliate in the past for sites and it is a very good complete affiliate program solution for a single site.

    I have however not added it to a magento site. cant imagine it will be too hard.

    I saw an interesting solution recently - private sale script from Plumrocket. A number of magento extensions and magento private sales theme, -I think it is worth seeing.
