Anyone know a good dropshipping company for USA? Googling is not helping :(

Hey there,

Can anyone recommend me any cool dropshipping company for USA to get started with?

I love the concept of dropshipping that the company stores your merchandize and ships it to your individual order for their little fees!

What I want to do is have my merchandize shipped from China to dropshipper's warehouse and they'll ship it to buyer, but tragically, when I search dropshippers online, most of them requires hefty start-up fees or they offer only THEIR OWN items to be stored which is pretty much worthless!

So it'd be great help if anyone can recommend any reputed and friendly dropshipping company to get started with for USA!

Thanks

Amazon really?? I have to say your highly mistaken Amazon does not drop ship products. Amazon is a retail marketplace and most of the products on their are sold at retail prices. Sure you can find some pretty good deals that if your lucky may make you $2 to $5 give or take a few. The problem with that is you have to sell 3 times the amount of products just to make a a few $100 not to mention the ethical issue involved but I won't go into that now. However for those that do source products from Amazon to sell on eBay could cause their Amazon accounts to get your account terminated.

Its just not viable and for anyone that wants to earn real money selling physical products should not use this method for that very reason. I know DSD teaches that but you have to question whether or not this person actually knows what their talking about. With the plethora of suppliers that are on the internet their should be no reason to source products from Amazon unless your just too plain lazy to do the research to find the products at true wholesale prices.

The problem with most drop shipping companies I found is the item may sell for $5 but the shipping cost $20 hard to make any kind of profit unless there is a company that ships by USPS.

Instead of drop shipping, try searching for order fulfillment companies. Amazon does have this service whereas you send you physical merchandise to Amazon DC and when someone buy it, the will package it and send it out.

I've already started searching out for that program, by any chance you happen to know the name of that program?

Yes Worldwide Brands will dropship for you if you pay $300 to become a customer. I have several readers of my book who have started their importing businesses for that amount of money. You can buy small quantities direct from real manufacturers at genuine factory prices.

If you are going to follow up on what herdfan2005 wrote: "Instead of drop shipping, try searching for order fulfillment companies. Why get that inventory by paying inflated prices from wholesalers when you can buy from the factory?

Some will try to fool you into thinking that you have to place large orders to buy direct, and that importing is complex. I have proven to my many book readers that those claims are not true if you go about it the right way.

You can still sell on eBay, but instead of joining the hungry masses trying to beat each other into the ground price wise by listing hundreds or thousands of products the same as everyone else, you can have a real niche. You may not sell as many items in a day, but at least you can make a high profit margin, not the tiny margins I frequently.see mentioned on this forum.

I like the idea of more profit for less work, that is why I only ever imported direct for 22 years until I retired.

Something you could do is contact manufactures directly. I have done this in the past. Most manufactures offer drop-shipping services. The only thing is you would have a hand full of different companies to pay, tracking packages, ect but you would save a substantial amount of money in the long run. Just good manufactures for the types of products you're interested in selling and start making calls, sending emails, ect.

I must disagree with this. Only a few manufacturers will dropship. Most are not interested in what they see as nuisance value small orders. Most local manufacturers will not deal with small orders. Those that do dropship will certainly not be charging the lowest price that you can buy for if you go to the ones that don't dropship.

If you buy direct from the real manufacturers you can buy small quantities, and you will pay much less than wholesale price. Profit margins will amaze you.

BillyW says: "start making calls, sending emails" but he is talking about dealing with local manufacturers. If you buy from manufacturers overseas you will get much lower prices. Why do you think the bulk of consumer goods are now imported?

If you intend approaching manufacturers overseas it is important to follow certain procedures otherwise they will not deal with you. For one thing you must avoid letting them know you are new to the business. You also need to avoid giving the impression when asking for samples that you are just looking for freebies. I provide sample approach emails in my book.

Manufacturers in China get thousands of request for samples every week and they have a standard response to most of them - they ignore them.

        Importexport,

I actually agree with both points. Billy W says you can contact manufacturers and many of them will drop ship. I totally agree with him. I've been selling physical products online for 10 years and I have always gone to the manufacturer to get products. Some manufacturers I have drop ship the products to my customers while others I carry on hand and ship myself. It just depends on the product.

You said that only a few manufacturers will drop ship. I find the opposite is true as there are literally 1000's of manufacturers that will drop ship however most of them don't advertise that they drop ship as you have to manually contact them via an email or phone call. I have sold a wide variety of products from just about every niche however I have 2 niches that have been my main bread and butter.

Among those 2 niche's I have products that are drop shipped that are house hold names like Graco, Radio Flyer, Huffy and Little Tykes. Of course these are only a few of the hundreds of products that I have drop shipped. No I don't go to a 3rd party supplier the manufacturers for all of these brands drop ship for me.

It is true that you can make more if you buy in bulk as you are getting a higher price break and your only paying for one shipping fee for all the product your buying in bulk rather than the shipping fee for each product that is drop shipped to your customers. So in the long run it is better to buy in bulk. However not everyone has that luxury so drop shipping is the next best thing. I think its good to use a little of both methods due to this fact. The smaller products you buy in bulk the larger items you have drop shipped. Of course if you use a service like Fulfillment by Amazon then you can buy in bulk regardless of the size of the product have it shipped to Amazon's warehouse and then when you get an order Amazon will send the product to your customers using their shipping rates which are much lower than most people can get due to their large shipping volume.

I have found that even if you import products and become a distributor for that product you can still have it drop shipped even if your only selling to retailers.

Basically the moral of the story is there are 1000's of manufacturers that drop ship products and many of them are name brand products.

          Hi Nathan,

"Most" and "few" are relative terms and unless we could find statistics the question could not be proved either way.

I still believe that if you consider the millions of manufacturers there are and the thousands who will dropship, my statement that only a few manufacturers will dropship is reasonable.

However this is a distraction from my main point, that it is far more profitable to buy direct from manufacturers. Perhaps in the post you quoted I did not make it clear enough that I was talking about buying from manufacturers overseas, and China in particular.

You refer to buying in bulk to get a higher price break.

I am convinced that the mistaken belief that ordering from overseas suppliers requires huge bulk orders is a major factor in people choosing the dropship model. There are two main points I would like to make regarding order quantities:
          • Big MOQs are quoted by overseas suppliers to deter newbies, wannabees, and opportunists, but with the right approach it is usually possible to have those manufacturers agree to quite small orders.
          • Price breaks when dealing with Chinese manufacturers are actually quite small for increased quantities. For doubling the quantity the discount can be as low as a few %.
I have now taught hundreds of people in 30 countries how to get suppliers to agree to small orders at genuine ex-factory prices. It can be done. Here is what one of my students recently posted on WF: " I have contacted some manufacturers already (from links he supplies) and I am just shocked at the low prices they offer for products I am researching. Forget Alibaba, Global Resource, whatever........."

I don't doubt that dimitri tried to just cut and paste a URL from their website, so I have no problem there.

What I will comment on is Worldwide Brands. I know it is one of the most popular sources for dropshippers, but like all such sites, it lists suppliers that leave some resellers very unhappy. Dimitri says "dig deeper, read reviews".

I suggest a good place to start is www.ripoffreport.com where you will find a couple of people defending them, (including a worldwide brands employee on behalf of the company,) and other people bitterly attacking them.

For copyright reasons I can only quote a small part of what is written, but the following is from 2 posts by worldwide brands themselves:
"Dropshipping is good to test the market with. But once you find a product that tests well, you may want to consider purchasing in bulk to obtain better pricing."

"You cannot rely solely on the dropshipping method and that is what we teach on our site. It is a good way to start, but you should consider purchasing in smaller bulk quantities in order to compete better, especially in a competitive market like eBay."

The problem with this, as a couple of people complaining on ripoff report say, is that the wholesale prices on offer are not real wholesale prices.

By all means test the market, but you can do so without paying a huge join up fee to buy a list, and you do not have to pay the ridiculous prices charged by dropship suppliers.

I teach how to safely source small quantities direct from reliable, genuine manufacturers at real factory prices, and then how to handle the importing process which can be very quick, and ridiculously easy.

The cost of buying and importing a quantity of saleable products that allow you huge margins need be no more than WWBrands join up fee. In my 22 years as an importer, I never imported anything that gave me less than a 250% mark up. If you matched what I did, the $299 spent on a small order imported direct from the manufacturer would make you about $450 profit.

The margins were often much more than that.

Just an FYI, WWB doesn't dropship anything. They just pass you the list of suppliers/manufacturers and you do the rest. They claim that they do the necessary checks to verify the legitimacy of any supplier before adding them to the list.

I think that has more to do with drop shipping as a business model than WWB the company. One of the downsides of drop shipping and one has to deal with it.

You started by saying that you will talk about WWB the company and then mentioned that (quote), making it sound like WWB at fault.

I am not connected with WWB or defending them. But they have been around for a long time to be a real scam. And the quotes sounded flawed.

isn't world wide brand just a high quality directory? from my understanding, you'd still have to make the relationship with the suppliers and actually call them up.. so i dont get where all this nonsense of "monthly fee" and "same cost structure" is coming from.. from the looks of things, it's pretty much a list of suppliers that have already been conveniently compiled for you... but it's up to you to make most of it

Yes it is basically an expensive list of suppliers that can be found for free on a number of B2B portals.

All this was dealt with very thoroughly in the thread Is WorldWide Brands worth the $299 membership fee?

How would you suggest doing something similar to what you do but way more scaled down? For example, making $1k or something per month by selling on Ebay. Thanks

          Hi Njack,

Maybe you intended this question for someone else, but you quoted my post. I don't sell anything on eBay, in fact the only thing I sell is my book on importing from China.

Making $1k per month by selling on eBay is much easier of you buy direct from the factories. The profit margins will blow you away.

Don't let anyone tell you that you have to place big orders to buy direct from the manufacturers, or that importing is difficult. I have readers in 9 countries using my guide, and most of them are only small operators.

Do you actually reveal these manufactures in your report? I have searched and searched on Alibaba without finding anything I could import in small quantities and make money.

              Hi Tim,

I don't list them, but I do show how to find them on safe B2B sites. Not all sites that are frequently suggested on this forum are safe for various reasons.

If you look on Alibaba you will find that a big percentage of suppliers listed as manufacturers are not, they are agents or wholesalers. In both cases you will not get profit margins anywhere near as good as you will get by buying from real manufacturers.

Finding the manufacturers is not the end of the story, because there are some special methods I teach on how to negotiate and this includes how to get them to supply small orders even if they quote big MOQs.

Hi Tim, I did not just walk the walk, I ran. Until my heart surgery did not go quite right and damaged my lungs, I operated my importing and marketing business for 22 years.

It was so successful that I finished up franchising it in 4 countries and was in the process of negotiating a Master Franchise for a 5th country when the surgery put a stop to all that and I had to sell the whole business.

As you can imagine, after all that activity stopped, I had to find something to do, so I wrote my book, and since then I have been helping people in 35 countries so far, start off in importing and I am enjoying every minute of it.

I wish I could still be doing what I was doing, running my highly successful business, but at least I have found something worthwhile to replace it.

                Hello everybody,
Just wanted to share my own experience with dropshipping.

@Worldwide Brands-I really tought that they do dropshipping, but they just give you a list of wholesalers, dropshippers, ect. I ended up cancelling my membership in just 2 days.

@Doba-They have nice items, prices are ok but shipping if high! monthly subcription is high! if you use them to sell items on ebay and with all the ebay and paypal fees plus competition...you wont make any profit. If there is, its not that much.

@amazon-I have sold a few items from them. Lately I tried sending it to my self...they put a note with the product that its from amazon (even if you bought it as a gift) I was lucky nobody left me a negative feedback. I ended all my amazon listings.

For now I dont know where to get a really good product. buying wholesale products in bulk is not for me, I just dont have the money or storage for that.
I have seen a bunch of dropshippers which are all to good to be true, some of them dont even have a phone #(I stay away from them right away), No bbb rating, bad online reviews. My rating is important to me dont want to mess it up, so I stayed away from those dropshippers.

Anybody here who can recommend a really good dropshipper? I would really appreciate it.
                Thanks

Sorry Broslink, I can't help you if you won't consider buying inventory, even on a small scale. For the 22 years that I ran my importing business the only storage space I needed for inventory occupied the space of a large desk but with shelves floor to ceiling.

I chose products of high value, low weight, and small volume, but very high profit margins.

You may not have convinced yourself, but I am delighted to see your strong arguments against dropshipping and in favor of keeping an inventory.

By the way, I never bought from wholesalers, always direct from the factories in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Italy, New Zealand, and yes - USA. It is not so easy to get genuine manufacturers in western countries to supply small quantities, but in Asian countries it is no problem. The importing side of it is dead easy.

                      Hi Broslink,

Your reply makes me slightly nervous for your sake because you might have just gone to one of the popular B2B sites so often mentioned on WF, and there are pitfalls in using some of those sites. I recommend only a very small number of B2B sites to my book readers, and I don't recommend the ones that usually appear on WF.

Unfortunately I can't simply reveal them online because there is a lot more that I want people to know before they start sourcing, such as what not to say when you make your first contact with suppliers, how to negotiate, how to avoid ripoffs when ordering samples, how to ensure that you get the best price, how to get manufacturers to supply small orders regardless of the big MOQs they quote, how to get the supplier to do the hard yards for you when it comes to shipping, etc., etc. This all adds up to make the importing process easy for people who have never done it before.

I hope all goes well for you and the goods arrive. Many people are lucky even when they buy from risky sites and I suppose that is why so many people post and say: "Go to xxx.com". They have not read all the posts on other threads that report the bad experiences so many have had, and they have almost certainly not been to www.ripoffreport.com to check out the site they are recommending.

Let me know if you have any problems and I will see what I can do to help.

As I quoted in post #65, here is what one of my book users posted on WF: "I have contacted some manufacturers already (from links he supplies) and I am just shocked at the low prices they offer for products I am researching. Forget Alibaba, Global Sources, whatever. The Ebook shows you where to find manufacturers, how to verify their credibility etc."

Finding the manufacturers who will supply at those low prices is quite easy. The hard part is the selling of the products, so if you have done your market research thoroughly you are ready to go.

I have taught safe sourcing and easy importing to hundreds of people in 35 or 36 countries (I am losing count), and many have started with less than $300.

Here is an email from one of them:
"Ok. From extremely skeptical to successful completion. Credit given where credit is due. I followed the book instructions you laid out. Took my time to double check everything and was able to successfully import an order from China. Not only that but it was also a "sample order" for less than 300.00. A 300% mark up has allowed to get initial investment back and I have 70% of my inventory left. Stop promoting your book. Your encouraging competition for me Many thanks." Email on file for FTC inspection if required.

Look for a powerseller on Ebay selling the product of your choice and contact them and see if they will dropship for you and work out the terms from there. I did this years ago and have since sold nearly $1 million in products through them and I maintain some of the most competitive pricing in my niche.

Beware of fakes. If you buy for personal use or try to sell some of the brands on the fashiontrendsin site you could find yourself in trouble.

I have repeatedly warned against trying to deal in big brand names. Consequences can be:
      1. Confiscation and destruction
      2. Fines
      3. Prosecution
      4. Imprisonment for repeat offenders
      5. Law suits by the brand owners. Likely result would be your bankruptcy.

In regards to the OP. If it was easy to find a good, high margin, drop shipping opportunity, it would no longer be a good, high margin, drop shipping opportunity.

It takes a lot of work and research to find good people to do business with, but it's well worth it!

The dropship sourcing site you suggest is free for very basic services but if you are serious about dropshipping it will cost you $25 to $50 per month for access to 80 dropship suppliers and their online tools.

The question this raises is not only is it worth paying to access a list of dropshippers, but as they probably have thousands of people accessing the same wholesalers, aren't they going to present a lot of competition for the same products?

Instead of paying a year's fees you could import a small inventory direct from the overseas manufacturers with massive profit margins.

There are lots of people either too timid or who lack the knowledge to carry out sourcing for themselves, so no doubt you will find plenty who want to use your sourcing service.

On the other hand, I have found large numbers who want to learn for themselves how to source products and import them. There is no doubt that importing direct from the manufacturers is the best way to go if profit margins are important.

Although there are many scare stories published about being scammed by overseas suppliers, once a person learns the basics, it is ridiculously easy.

I learned the hard way, by experience. I must admit that I had a head start, with my first job being with a huge international shipping company, but I still made some mistakes.

When I started exporting to the Asia/Pacific in 1978, with my only knowledge being what I had studied and then what I had learned at work, I was still unprepared for the real world.

The most pleasant thing I did learn very quickly is that if you treat Chinese people the way you would like to be treated they are a pleasure to do business with. I have never been scammed by a Chinese supplier, and none of my former importing franchisees in 4 countries have been either.

Many of the contacts I made while exporting were extremely helpful when I changed to importing in 1987.

They had offered me products to import, mostly through businesses owned by their relatives, and some of them have become very long term friends. Even though I am retired, that helps me keep up to date on matters relating to doing business with China.

Before long I had to look for sources for products other than those offered by my friends. This was before the Internet went public so I had to use physical sourcing methods, including frequent visits to China.

This turned out to be a huge advantage, because I gained a knowledge of government sponsored and industry sponsored sourcing networks years before they set up websites and went public on the Internet.

Their sites are generally not easy to find because Google searches are swamped by the likes of Alibaba, GlobalSources, Tradekey, and the myriad of other privately owned sites, where sad to say, checking of the credentials of suppliers leaves a lot to be desired.

Several of the sites that I know and recommend to my students have great reputations among professional importers, but never get a mention on forums.

Safe sourcing small (or large) quantities direct from the manufacturer can earn entrepreneurs far higher returns per hour spent on their business because of the mind boggling profit margins that are obtainable. If dropship resellers only knew what they're missing.

P.S. I write mostly about China because that is where almost everyone wants to source products, but in my former business I visited and imported profitably from many other countries.

I actually own a business that offers reseller/drop shipping and wholesale options. Many of the items are our own, and we also offer some other items deeply discounted too. The best part, is you know the actual cost of each item, because shipping is free!

Let me know if you would be interested in checking it out, and I will message you.

The OP is probably aware of the many potential problems in dealing with China dropshippers and that is why he asked for information on USA dropshippers.

In any case he has moved on and is very sensibly looking at fulfillment services. This would allow him to buy direct from the manufacturers in China at very low prices, ship the goods to his fulfillment service and they would handle the local packing and shipping.

      He gains two major benefits:
      1. Much bigger profit margins
      2. Control of his inventory because he will not be at the mercy of dropshippers who are renowned for letting down their resellers.

"This link is suspicious. We tested it and found potential security risks. Be careful."

For the 10th - 20th - 50th? time I repeat to all warriors, never rely on a recommendation to use a particular website before doing your own research. It is your money you are risking.

Agreed that contacting manufacturers for best pricing is really the way to go. However, for those of you who'd like to take drop shipping for a spin, here's a list to get you started. There's a good mix of wholesalers in here as well that offer drop shipping. I haven't taken the time to verify every single one of these companies, but the majority are active and legitimate. Enjoy and good luck! There's approx. 3300 here : )

Hey Dave I understand your frustration with finding a company to drop ship for. Most companies will charge you for drop shipping but don't really provide you with training or the product that they recommend you to sell is pretty much worthless and has no true value. If you are still looking for a company I can definitely help you, there is still a fee for sure but its really cheap and you will have access to really helpful videos that would answer all of your questions. If you are interested just write me and ill be glad to help out.

    Thanks
Hey Dave how are you? I'm hoping I can become a huge help to you in the near future, if you are still looking for a drop ship company or information about drop shipping i'd be glad to help you out.

I've recently noticed Banggood.com has an option for dropshipping from a US location. Not on all products, it is specific to the product page. It's in a pulldown in the product details.

I don't know if this has been available for a while or if I've only just noticed it. Anyway, worth looking into.

I can't tell for the whole market of course, but I would recomend you some kind of B2B companies or start-ups which work especially for dropshippers. For example, I'm trying using Dropwow for the moment.
    http://news.dropwow.com/dropshipping-marketplace
They work mainly for USA, do not charge any commission from store and that's quite easy to integrate shopify with them and import products. Now I'm using them along with my Droppified app but I'm considering a possibility of switching only to Dropwow platform in the long run. Hope that's helped you somehow.
