Hi guys, is anyone doing the Brown Box Forumla, by Ezra Firestone... yes, that's his real name.

My biz partner is knee deep into it, sent me a 90 min webinar, where he pretty much gives a lot of the training away... he clearly knows his stuff, how to optimize your store, traffic etc...

The main issue I have though, is the whole business model relies on finding a dropshipper. So, you have to go out and find a wholesaler, who drop ships.

My friends is at this stage in the training and said it's not going too well so far, he's asked a few wholesalers, some just said no, one guy said, we only supply bricks and mortar stores.

So, just curious, how many on here have found successful wholesalers who'll drop ship?

    Hey mate, yeah I am in the program actually ... Ezra is a legend ... certainly switched on guy ... in saying that I am not going the dropship route ... i am buying in bulk from alibaba and shipping it to my "warehouse" (my garage, shhhh don't tell anyone) and then shipping it myself.

    I have spoken to wholesalers before and you are right many don't want to deal with online stores.

      Ye, I have a mate doing this model with Ebay and Amazon, he buys in bulk. But he's doing brown box now... and finding it hard to find drop shippers... He's looking in the UK, where I reckon it's a lot harder than the US.

      Personally, I'd much prefer the dropshipping route, and then, if it really takes off, then, move on to buying in bulk.

    Yeah I hear that ... I am not much help there as I have not looked into it ... I would probably go to a competitor who is ranked say on Google say the page after me and ask for a discount ... I have done this and they were happy to, but I never went through with the business at the time.

    I bought it also, but I don't drop ship. I did, years ago, but probably won't get into it again.

    It is hard to find drop shippers, and especially those that are not saturated. If he wants success, it's best found OFFLINE because nearly everyone looking for drop shippers is looking ONLINE.

      I hear ye, I'm in the situation where I'm living in China, so, have easier access to factories, trade shows, business partners etc... but, shipping from here, it just takes too long.

      At the moment, I'm looking for a decent fullfilment company in the UK and US.

    Some of the wholesale door-shippers also have warehouse in america so you can get the goods from there too
    just Google "door shippers in china" I got many by just searching on Google
    I'm getting really cool dresses at just 8-9$ which can be sold in america for about 20$+
    And yes I've an online store as well which is facebook based

    One alternative to the dropship problem may be using a small fulfillment center. It changes things financially though. Drop shipping means you get paid for the purchase first, then buy inventory second...taking much less financial risk.
    With a fulfillment center, you order inventory and have it sent to a company that handles order fulfillment and shipping for you. That involves taking much more risk, unless you take the time and effort to carefully test your product and market beforehand. One solution would be to set up your ads and take people to a page that has a Coming Soon on it, followed by some action (a button saying "keep me posted"). Use good tracking software and you will reduce the risk of up front inventory substantially. Good luck to you.

    The downsides of drop shipping is you have to make sure you have a reliable supplier because if you fail to do so, you will be held responsible for your buyers and as far as they are concerned, it's your reputation that will be damaged. Another disadvantage is you'll have to invest significant time and money in advertising and the chances of offering free shipping for certain prices.
