I have set up a website to sell my own products and have been reasonably successful for about a year, I can't fund a massive product range so would like to add drop ship and affiliate products as well. The site is built using woo commerce and I would like to know if it is possible to set up in such a way that customers will not know the difference between the origins of the products and can use the regular checkout method.

I am new to drop shipping and affiliate marketing and can't find any information about how the checkout method works when you incorporate the products into your own site as opposed to just linking to other sites.

One final item is how do I go about providing my items to affiliates to sell, I am not too technical perfectly ok adding products and descriptions and new pages to my website and a little SEO but nothing too technical like adding code I am looking for straight forward solutions and would appreciate any advice, help and thoughts from more experienced warriors - thank you

Just add them as normal products and deal with the dropshipping yourself after payment has been made?

Simple solution - excellent. What about affiliate products how could these be treated, I have seen entire websites populated with products, pictures and descriptions from an affiliate feed but I am unsure how the payment is processed or how I could incorporate this into my website along side physical products in stock and drop ship products.

Incorporating the affiliate products is going to be very difficult. Most people use Amazon and then people over to Amazon to finish the checkout. I seriously doubt there is a way that you can do this without letting them know that you are dropshipping.

What would be the best for of collecting payment for the product before you purchase from the manufacturer. If paypal, it wont work for me as I am not from a paypal supported country. Is there any good alternative

Ryan makes a good point - it will be difficult to integrate them fully.

Maybe you could create a section called 'Recommended Products' and make people aware that they will be visitng 3rd party websites to complete their purchase.

I think as long as you make people fully aware of what's on offer, they will make their own decision whether to proceed or not.

Ideally I wanted to keep customers on my site and build my brand but I think you are correct I could integrate the drop ship products but affiliate products would have to be redirected and I would have to make that clear. With this in mind I will stick to my own products and drop ship products. I ma struggling to find watersports drop ship products, talking with my own suppliers (who I spend quite a lot with) they do not want me to sell anything in the catalogue that is not in stock. Any advice would be appreciated.

        Hi,
Like you, I have a site that sells my own product, dropshipping products and affiliate products. I see you are using WooCommerce which appears to make promoting all three types of product quite easy (I'm just changing to Woo from Zendesk at the moment and getting my head around it).

When entering new affiliate products use the drop down box next to the "Product Data" heading on the "New Product" screen and choose "External/Affiliate Products". The format then changes and allows you to enter your affilaite url as well as the product details. When you've finished entering the product information and images etc the product will sit on your site as if it was yours. The only difference between it and your own products is that when the visitor clicks the "Buy Now" button they will be taken to the merchant site instead of the shopping cart.

I am in the process of populating my site with potentially thousands of affiliate products using the Woo multi uploader. This allows me to use a merchants data feed to upload hundreds of products at a time in a matter of seconds. Let me know if any of this is helpful and I'll go into a bit more detail with you if you want.

        All the best

        Neill
