Since both guys are active on the forums no one will really want to say which one is better. Both provide a variety of information that can make things easier and will have some nice little gems to help you out.

Many of us (including myself) have done it through trial and error and learned the hard way what things you shouldn't do so in that case they both could save you some heartache.

In my opinion the hardest part about doing ecommerce fits on the tails, finding the product (beginning) and then marketing (end). Everything in between is (In my opinion) both the fun and easy part.

I've never been through Dave's program (Store Coach) but I can tell from the posts that he shares on WF that he obviously knows what he's talking about and I'm sure his membership site reflects that as well.

I wouldn't be able to compare my course to his since I'm not a member but like OnlineStoreHelp said I think both courses can save anyone looking to get into eCommerce a lot of time and energy because you are learning from others experience instead of trial and error.

With all that being said there is no "copy and paste" system to follow and I know when people working through my course they learn A LOT more be going through the motions then they do by watching my training videos.

Besides the $247 one time that you are asking, how much more do I have to pay you?
So, $247 is unlimited access? Any upgrade or upsell? How much more do I have to shell out later on? Thank You!

There's really no copy and paste formula so costs can and will vary but to give you some of idea of costs related to starting an eCommerce business:

                  - You will obviously have to purchase a domain - I use namecheap and pay $10/year.
                  - You will also needed an eCommerce solution - I use and recommend Shopify and their plans start at $29/month (with a 14 day free trial).
                  - I recommend Google Shopping and if you're new to Adwords Shopify will give you $100 to get started with.
                  - I recommend Amazon Product Ads and if you're new to them Amazon will give you $75 to get started with.

That pretty much covers the basics. If you want to get into incorporating and outsourcing most of the work there will obviously be more expenses but if you're looking to bootstrap in the beginning you can get by with not much of an upfront investment. I started my first eCommerce store for $29. It looked terrible but it made me enough money to fix it up and scale my business to the next level

Having been through drop ship lifestyle AND Store coach now and when he was called nicheblueprint, I would go with the storecoach. I would study all the free information they have on their site and then get a membership when you're ready to take it to the next level.

I have not had the pleasure or otherwise of Dropship Lifestyle, so my comments are not a direct comparison.

But in saying that, I have learned allot from the Hermansen brothers and can validate all of their teachings. I started with them back when they were in partnership over at the BluePrint, and found followed them to their new venture within Store Coach.

They have always acted professional and their support is excellent, at all times. One of the biggest thing that acts in their favor is the fact that they have done the hard work themselves and can pass on all the correct ways of doing things, been there done that!

I have no affiliate or financial association with them, I'm just a happy customer of theirs.

I will say this though, the only thing that I did not agree with, was their choice of shopping cart platforms, that is BigCommerce. But they have spent the time in developing their own support tutorials, that are much better then BC has to offer!

Most may find BigCommerce will do all that they require I did not, so that would be my only con against them.

    Cheers
    Greg.

Shopping cart platforms have all got their own pros and cons for sure. My brothers and I have used BigCommerce quite a bit over the years, and overall, I still believe it's a solid platform for most folks. If you've got 10+ websites however, and you're not an expert using a server, it can pose a lot of challenges.

I've been doing the dropshipping thing for a few years. Learning the hard way.

Feel free to send me a message and we can arrange a time to chat real time. I love chatting with other people that are interested in this type of business. Maybe a partnership can be made or just discuss how we can resolve common issues. I don't charge a penny, just want to network with others in the same field. I really don't think these courses give you all the answers. Like the saying goes: "Those who can't do, teach....."

    Message me.

It's funny stumbling across this thread and seeing the previous cost of Drop Ship Lifestyle compared to what it is now. I missed out on that!

I have experience with both of these courses and have learned things from both. There are also things I don't like about both.

The main difference between the two methods besides what shopping cart they recommend is that the Store Coach training revolves a lot around SEO whereas DSL doesn't and instead only focuses on paid traffic.

It's quite a key difference as paying attention to SEO affects everything from niche selection to how you build your site to how you go about promoting it. Store Coach is great for teaching all that. If you don't want to focus on any of that, however, Drop Ship Lifestyle will be a better choice.

This is probably a fair assessment - I'm huge into SEO for a number of reasons. One, positive organic results are free, and there are so many ways to grow it; two, it's always yielded excellent results. With that said, Store Coach's training, I believe, is very well rounded - especially after this year's additions to the course.

Thanks for thinking of me, PaulaMaria. I do all of my private coaching through the Store Coach course and it keeps me pretty busy. Because of the help they have given me through the years and the fact that I am very loyal, I do not do any outside coaching gigs.

Importexport has a very good report on this, you should look him up. Don't have the URL unfortunately.

I know another Warrior that has a very good report on these things, but for the life of me, can't remember his name. Check the thread on Why I prefer eBay... and you will see him as the author of that thread.

I never responded to this and only found it when exploring certain keywords.

My URL is in my signature below.

The other report timpears is referring to is by Auctiondebteliminator, but I can't find it using the search function. I know how to use the search function, but I suspect that thread has been deleted.

I was the first official Store Coach member, although I first met Dave Hermansen in another course he was affiliated with, handling tech support - Niche Blueprint. Dave took the time to coach me every step of the way when I was unemployed and desperate for some way to make money just after the 2008-2009 crash, when there were no jobs available. Although I had a very solid SEO background and am a writer, I didn't know anything about finding suppliers and dropshipping. Thanks to his tutelage, I was able to not only replace my "real job" income, but double it.

I have no idea whether Dropship Lifestyle is better or worse, since I never had a need to try the Dropship Lifestyle program after finding success with Store Coach. From what I have read, the main difference is that Store Coach focuses on thorough keyword research so that you KNOW that you have a shot at success in organic listings. Their emphasis is definitely on SEO and organic rankings because, not only are organic listings free, but they are the only way to continued growth. That said, there are several sections of the course that focus on other things like social marketing and paid advertising., which definitely helps bring in income while you work on improving your organic rankings. I have yet to read a decent explanation of what Dropship Lifestyle teaches other than the fact that they don't care about keyword research - something that leads me to believe that there is no actual growth of a website from year to year using their approach. Of course, I could be wrong, but I simply do not know how you climb the rankings without knowing what search phrases are the best low competition, high search ones. If you don't expand your organic rankings, I'm not sure how you increase sales after the first month or two.

My guess, though, is that both programs have something to offer but like all courses (or anything in life), 70-80% of people will fail because they simply are not committed enough or don't have (or make) the time that is necessary for success. Very few sites instantly start making money, which is what discourages so many people. It's a long distance race, not a sprint and if you cannot afford to invest $25-$50 a month for anywhere from 3-12 months with the realization that you might not make a profit for that period of time, I'm not sure eCommerce is for you. This is not push button to instant money stuff. It takes serious time, research and an unwavering desire to succeed, no matter what obstacles you encounter. Nothing is ultra complicated, but there are many components to building a successful website business. Far too many people simply give up too soon or just don't really put in the effort required to succeed. Others simply pick and choose what they feel like doing and skip crucial steps along the way. The ones who do it right, follow the steps and don't give up when there isn't instant money, are the ones who see success.

As a matter of absolute full disclosure, because I am a writer, I now frequently write course training for Store Coach as well as blog posts. In fact, although I am not officially a member of the Store Coach staff, I am now known there as "Coach Scott". Years after finding success in eCommerce, utilizing their methods as well as my own SEO background, I also head up their 1-on-1 Consulting Program and write many of their Expert Site Reviews. That combination has put me in a position where I can now instruct others how to be successful.

Just in case anyone is still pondering which one of these courses to choose, I thought I'd let you know that you can now sign up for the core Store Coach eCommerce training course for free. It doesn't include all of the really cool tools but the bulk of everything you need to know to set up a profitable eCommerce business is there. Free is always a good price in my book!
