Should I Use Prestashop Or Not?

Many people here recommend Prestashop and I want to try it. But I feel that it's a bit difficult to learn. For the warriors who are using prestashop, I want to ask you a question, How did you learn to use prestashop fast?

And some warriors also recommend to use hosted shopping carts such as bigcommerce and shopify because they are safer. So is prestashop safe? Was any of your prestashop store hacked before?

    We personally use and recommend Woocommerce, it is wordpress-based so allows you to utilise all the free wordpress tools and plugins readily available.

    We use Woocommerce to build our clients websites and it performs really well, it has helped one of our clients to grow a new business to a 7 figure ecommerce business in around 2 years, if you download the guide in our signature below you can see how they did it!

      Prestashop is actually quite simple to install and use. In many respects even a little simpler than opencart. If there is anything that bugs me about Prestashop is some of the add on modules that should be included in the core costs more then they should, PayPal Pro for example. That being said, there are some beautiful Prestashop themes. Many years ago there might have been some security issues but I have not heard about any of those for a log time.

      If you are worried about security, then using wordpress for your store should be out right away. As much as I love wordpress, it is inherently insecure and do you really want to send a letter to anyone that bought from you that you had a security breach and they should probably change all their passwords, change their credit card numbers, etc? (about 3 months ago some warriors came out with a wordpress security plugin because sites were getting hacked left and right).

      A friend of mine used to consult for Fortune 500 companies to prepare them for a security breach and it is not pretty.

      If you are worried about both security or ease of use, check out a variety of hosted solutions depending on your needs. The easiest but least full featured being shopify, then BigCommerce and 3dCart and if you feel more ambitious Corecommerce and Americommerce. Some will tell you Volusion but I would reserve that hell for someone I do not like.

    Yes it is secure. How do I know this? I am expert developer in Prestashop who has developed multiple website and modules for this platform.

    Depending on the type of store you want to create, I would say that PrestaShop is an excellent and simple choice. You could also try something like OpenCart - a good alternative to PrestaShop.

      PrestaShop is really worth to use. As for me, this shopping cart includes all the best to make the store profitable. On the other hand, hosted platforms need less knowledge and time to open the store. Try to read several independent reviews on different platforms to understand what features you actually want and realize what kind of skills you will need to handle the store.

    Prestashop is good but not so easy panel. I would say go for Opencart or Woocommerce. Its themes and extensions are easily available. for example have a loook at below opencart template

    Prestashop is great. Been using it for 4 years.
    You might need a few days to familiarize yourself with the backend control panel. But after that you'll be able to find your way fairly easily.

    To entry the eCommerce market at the first time, people tend to choose a platform that is easy to install, use and control, with a minimal setting up cost. Prestashop is a good choice for start business.
