hi,
Im looking to sell up a new ecommerce site with the focus on upsells. Offering, reduced rates on related products when someone buys. Possibly with a video sales page.

Can anyone recommend a good product to do this?

What type of product are you selling?

Is it a one off purchase?

      Software or physical?

Shopping carts vary widely and what's best will depend on your product.

Magento is well supported and has hundreds of plugins

Agree with the above, we need more information. If it is physical products many carts have upsell modules, but it kinda sounds like you want to do more the info product route, which in that case, wordpress, DAP and 1shopping cart. Drupal and Ubercart is another option if you are more technically oriented.

If it's info products, then DAP has a built-in free shopping cart that can do Upsells, Downsells & Coupons.

But to give you more details, would need to know what payment processor you wish to use. Paypal standard? Authorize.net? Other?

I would recommend going with Magento if you are going to have lots of products as there are hundreds of extensions you can get to add upsale options and it has some built in. If you have little products and not great with databases and management you could go with Wordpress + WooCommerce. It also has plenty of add ons you can do for upsales.

Not so many products but it will be a mix of physical and digital products.
