What methods are there to drive traffic from my ebay site to my new bigcommerce website. My eBay site has plenty of traffic yet the new site does not.

  • You can tie your sales from Paypal to an auto responder like aWeber.

Once you have those sales and opt-ins, you can then re target your traffic with email marketing.

eBay doesn't care if SUBSEQUENT sales are made off eBay, they just care that the initial one is.

This is one of the most powerful ways of getting traffic to your website. You can easily get thousands of 'leads' (depending on your volume) and drive them to your website!

    Enjoy!

Can you explain how you go about getting the opt-in?

I sell eBooks on eBay and I have a link to an optin on the intro pages to each eBook that I sell, which is just a promo text box and the url inserted in ti that will go to the squeeze page - that way its always there if the eBook gets shared around (ie more chances of more leads and traffic going back to my site/s), so I can build a list this way and increase my chances of making even more sales later on.

Whenever you have the payment on Paypal/aWeber, there is a little check box that says soemthing like "allow me to get additional information/offers from seller"

You can modify this to sound less 'spammy,' but remain honest that they will be getting more information from you - but make sure you're engaging them and letting them know they'll get value from opting in and keeping that box CHECKED at check out - that way they will subscribe to your list.

Is it in violation of eBay's policy to put your website link anywhere in your eBay store or listing?

Are there any other ways to advertise my website on my eBay store?

I've heard of people putting business cards with their own website address in with the stuff they ship to eBay customers. Some offer lower prices on their own website to entice the eBay buyer to visit the site.

Since you can't put a link to your website on your eBay listing/store, you kinda have to get creative with it. Another option would be to handwrite a thank you note on the packing slip and include your website URL.

    Just a few ideas.

On your ebay store you can put in a line like "Check out our other vast majority of items here" and link it to your store. Many of my friends ebay sellers do this when they create a fully functional outside ebay site.

It works great, you just have to figure where to put it. I would suggest to put multiple lines.

Set your paypal account name as your website name. As example myweb.com

When buyers purchased your item they will get email from paypal said receipt your payment for myweb.com.

And the other one is when they purchased your item make sure you write your own order update.. put you website name like..

    thanks
    johny from website.com

    I hope that'll help..

One of the best ways is to put a customize letter inside your shipping box describing how they can get the item directly and give your Skype or contact information in the letter.

Include a flyer with their order

    BUT

Give them a reason to go to your website and subscribe. Most people are lazy and won't bother. What can you provide that will mean the customer wants to subscribe.

    EG

If you selling cycling gear - you could give them a free ebook on the best ways to cycle faster, bike maintenance, great cycle routes....

Show them you have a huge range of other cycle stuff and that from time to time you do great offers that they will miss unless the subscribe.

    Give them something of value.
