How can I add Meta tags and Meta description in ecommerce site easily?

Is meta description still important for SERP?

Go to a ecommerce store you like and you can view their meta tags and descriptions (IE right click view sorce, Chrome - Tools / View source)

Work out what's good and bad and why some work and others don't.

What would you click on out of these two

Title - Dog Beds
Description - Dog beds from ourstore.com Dog beds for your dog

Or

Title - Dog Beds Delivered Tomorrow
Description - Dog beds to comfort your dog. Cosy and soft in all shapes and sizes. 100% satisfaction guarantee from ourstore.com

  I build sites on MGO. You can import your tags with a csv or you can go product by product to filling in the tags within the CMS. MGO auto-fills your tags but they are filled with junk if you had any html in the start of your 'description; field. Also, Duplicate content is a problem on MagentoGO. Paste your link and lets have a look. Heres the MGO site I built. Still a work in progress. Thousands of products takes time!
