So I want to get started in Ecommerce, but I find all the requirements a bit daunting. So what do I need to start a Ecommerce business.

1.Niche
2.Domain and hosting
3.Supplier(and dropshipper)

I know these but I am more confused about legal stuff like do I need to start a business via sole proprietorship or do I just need a resale license? Do I need an EIN number?

I would suggest spend some time on finding a product (research), then go from there. Website, hosting, etc all that stuff can be figured out later for sure.

Find something you are interested in, because you will be dealing in it daily. That's first. Second. When you find a supplier they will tell you what you need to get access to their items. You will need an EIN, use Legal Zoom for LLC, etc. Use an all in one cart software like BigCommerce. There's much more. Post or message me if you need more. I customize and re-sell for BigCommerce carts. I have stores of my own.

You need to do more research before you get started so you know how the process works. It's no good having the best product in the world if no one knows it exists.

Equally it's no good having loads of traffic if you're sending them to a website that doesn't convert visitors into sales.

Find something that you are happy to sell and that can produce a good profit. If you're starting out it's worth picking a niche product with less competition (you'd have a hard job selling 'books' against Amazon) something specific like 'backpacks' and then build the best site you can around it.

Get some traffic (quickest way is paid) and get a good number of visitors. Test your site and find your conversion rate. Can you make money, are visitors buying? If so build it out further and scale. If they are not buying find out why buy looking at your anayltics.

Try and become the 'resource' site for that product.

You don't have to stock hundreds of rucksacks in this example. You could just stock 3 and say 'you search for the 3 ultimate rucksacks for every budget and this is what you discovered' .... and this is why yours are so good.

I sold patio heaters but only sold 1 design - and sold thousands simply because I could show they were the best and then we gave the customers a great offer.

Hi Luke, as PublicImage has said, definitely pick something you like or at least know lots about. It's so much easier to remain interested and sell something you're genuinely passionate about. It's also easier to source products within a niche you already know and like as you'll have a broad knowledge of it and will instinctively know what prices you can sell for etc.
