Unoriginal content site

I found a thread on here at one point talking about duplicate content etc and somebody had mentioned a site that uses all unoriginal content that I looked up and found it had very high alexa rankings considering nothing on there was original. Anybody have an idea what site that was?
I forgot to bookmark it and can't find anything about it now.

    I have no idea what site that was, specifically, but I imagine that there are a lot of sites where that is the case.

    Firstly, "unoriginal content" is not the same as "duplicate content". Syndication of content is very common throughout the Internet, and there is no penalty for that. Many sites do very well by simply curating content from other places. The "duplicate content" penalty is for people deliberately duplicating content within their own sites, and has nothing to do with syndication

    Secondly, Alexa ranking is completely unrelated to Google's algorithm. It only determines how popular a site is, from a traffic perspective. It doesn't judge the content. Though I imagine that if a site is popular it contains good content.
