What type of set up do I use?

Hi I'm a newbie at affiliate marketing so sorry for any dumb questions.

I have a product - just one product - it's an education product where you get a new update each week. It costs $3.95 per week on a recurring subscription.

Originally I was just going to use paypal and sell it straight up. But then I thought, what if I could get affiliates, and they could sell and get paid as well?

I thought about Magento, but their Affiliates Plus add-on is $500. Is there a Wordpress plugin that people would recommend?

I looked at clickbank and others like that, but their fees were too big for such a cheap product.

I wanted to pay affiliates each week, for the life of their customer. So, if an affiliate found 1000 customers, I'd pay them $1, per customers, per week. That is $52,000 per year. Most customers would stay for multiple years.

So can you experts suggest the best way to set this up? I only want to do it once :/

Many thanks,
Alexing

Affiliate Plus for Magneto is not $500 unless you add on EVERY available option which is probably not necessary. The platinum version is about $225 if I recall. If you are using Magneto its probably the easiest way to launch an affiliate program.

There are also a few different subscription extensions available for Magento.

However in my opinion, you should launch the site and get everything performing well BEFORE you try recruiting affiliates.

Thanks kjamesnv - that's exactly what I want to do.

I should have been clearer - the affiliates plus with all the options (the option I particularly wanted was afilliates being able to have their own affilaites , which was only available on the $500+ version. Perhaps this is too complicated for now.

Is the Magento path the best one to go down?
