I've tried everything I can think of from "24 hour deals" to bundle deals to adding live support chat....

Can anyone tell me why I've only had one sale in the last month with 1900 Uniques the first month? I'm running ad banners and facebook ads...

Any tips are appreciated!
Here's the site:
Sasha's Toys Discount Sex Toys, Lingerie Lubricants and Massage Oils

thanks

Personally, I would stop the ad banners immediately! Focus on Facebook ...

Change your vertical. Go with a proven profit pulling vertical ... Remember the ABT's ... create some ad variations, and test until you have a WINNER! Then scale THAT WINNER ... Once you have achieved a winning campaign on Facebook, then you may want to start running banners again. Remember marketing IS a science ... you must follow the science ... it's no respecter of persons!

    Hope this helps.

    p.s. drop the niche buddy!

Why do you suggest I drop the niche?

I looked at your site earlier but it appears to be offline now. That certainly is not going to help conversions or trust.

I owned a very large and successful adult ecommerce business for many years. One of the key elements that is very important when you are selling adult products is TRUST. You need to make sure you have maximum credibility with you visitors. When someone is buying a sex toy its a completely different experience than buying shoes or a cell phone.

Do whatever it takes to get more reviews of products and more testimonials about your business.

People want to know that their personal data is safe and they won't have to call their credit card company and dispute a charge for a defective vibrator. You mention about "discreet shipping" but perhaps show some examples.

As far as advertising it sounds like whatever traffic you have is not converting so it definitely needs to be adjusted.

Also there are MANY things you can do on site to help with conversions. To learn more read this blog: Conversion Optimization Blog | ConversionXL
Its the absolute best source for improving conversions.

It's not your site, its' your selection of inventory. Is this inventory the stuff you keep on hand?

I would find a local distributor so you can increase your amount of inventory selection. You are mixing in novelty with actual sex toy items which is good if planned correctly. People who buy a sex toy for actual use do not care about novelty items, because in this niche those are two different customer bases. EX: A Couple who goes to a local sex toy store to buy things to use vs a person who is planning a bachelorette party.

If I could give you some advice based on experience, use sexuality to increase sales. A nice professional site is great but you have to use sexual images slightly to motivate sales. The reason why when you go to a sex toy store in person, you see graphic display cases for items is because those capture more attention from buyers. If I were you, I would hire a female to hold the items for photos faceless, non-nude with direct focus on the items because even though you might list something as 7.5 inches most people don't really know how big 7.5 inches actually is - but say you hire a female hand model to hold the item, they can see the size comparison in their hand and get a better idea of an items size and style

The basic look and functionality of your site is way off!!

My first impression of your site was add to cart buttons everywhere (Even on the sidebar on the left. I've never seen that. Major turnoff).

First work on your functionality, make it proper.

Get people to spend some time on your site (Decrease bounce rate).

Work on people to "CLICK" on your add to cart. Increase that first.

These are the three things you should concentrate on before even dreaming about getting a 'conversion'.

Setup Goals and Events (I lot of people still don't know how to setup or use events) and go from there.

Hopefully the traffic you are getting is targeted as well and not just a bunch of horny kids.

Lots to do on your end my friend . . .

Sounds to me like you could use some good sales copy on your site. Try going to fiverr.com to get a rewrite, or spend some real money and get some good copy written.

Personally, I don't like the theme. You are using little thumbnails which you can hardly see what you are buying. The pictures need to be bigger with more detail. 2nd, you have very limited items. Why would someone buy from your site when they can go to another on line shop and search for thousands of items?

You are pulling the items from amazon, why not give your visitors a broader choice of items ?

    Thank you Adam!
I'm constantly adding items, it's just time consuming...

As far as the design, I fugre I'll have to buy one on themeforest eventually... I'll probably do that very soon

Just a quick reply with a few ideas

I like that you show how the item is sent - however my concern would be that you still have your company name on the label. I might be tempted to show just a plain brown jiffy bag with an address label on.

Why free shipping over $5 - can you not make it free delivery on everything? It would be stronger to have that featured on every product.

I don't know how your prices compare

Or what keywords you are using - are you sending traffic to the most relevant page?

    Do you have anyaltics installed?

On the product pages I would remove "Welcome to... to just above your promise" The text is too large and the words that stand out are 'poor customer service, spam' I know you say that is what you are annoyed at, but they are the words that catch the users eye! You don't want to put anything negative into their minds.

Make your promise higher up and stand out

    How long does delivery take?

Would be great to say free delivery just under the add to cart button

When I clicked 'Add to cart' take to me to my cart page - don't just show a green banner at the top, it's to easy to miss. After that I need to hunt for the shopping cart link. It clear to you because you designed it. Do what most other sites do, it's what people expect.

The chat pop up box has no clear close button and is annoying. Only when I put my mouse over it could I see the close box.

When the shopping cart page loads, you have to scroll down for the 'checkout' which is hidden down in the corner.

You'd probably find my course useful, it's only $17 for the first month

    Good luck Alan

There are a few ways you can overcome this:
      - Have cheaper prices...and then advertise that you have the absolute BEST PRICES on the internet
      - Focus on a niche or give the appearance than you're focused on a niche. Maybe you can call yourself the "DILDO EXPERT" or something, showcase the dildo selection on the homepage. Links to articles and helpful guides about picking the right dildo, ideas on how to use it, etc. It's helpful for small sites to establish a niche first...and of course you can still sell all the other stuff and offer them a link from the tabs. It would be wise to choose your niche depending on the best selling product.
      - When doing PPC ads, focus on a specific niche. Don't just call yourself a sex toy store, make yourself "The best selection of _____".

      Here's what I would do...
      - clean up your homepage, get rid of the million options, focus fewer choices but be more helpful
      - put your welcome message higher up...or at least communicate all that in a nice graphic visual...this helps to establish that you're not like all those "other adult toy stores".

      Thank you both.

I just changed to a new premium theme, I think it looks good with a lot of nice features... I also decided I'm only going to sell Luxury Sex Toys... Higher profit margin, low compeition niche depending on exact keywords from what I've just seen in the KW planner....

Can you take a look again?
I appreciate your tips... And I will take advantage of your $17 ecommerce course!

      Thanks

The best way to market adult themes like yours is have an all girl "sex party" once or twice per month at your house. You can make penis shaped cupcakes and bake a breasts shaped cake.Make the evening fun and also market your products as relationship therapy or spice up your old romance with new toys. Those items tend to be expensive and are impulse buys so you just make the atmosphere fun wild and laid back and once one girl buys 2 bullets and a dolphin, everyone will lol.I have experience because my fiance's best friend used to throw "sex parties" and they all had a blast.Another great marketing point is no men,no kids lol.Good Luck!!
