Hi,

I have sold two items on eBay. I will make a profit but I am not sure where I can find the precise revenue.

With Amazon I receive a very nice email with the precise amount of money I am being paid. Can anyone advise where I can determine the precise amount of revenue with all the listing fees and eBay fees deducted?

Normally it should show on like sale details or whatever it is, try searching on google.

  • Here's a site for you:

    eBay and PayPal Fee Calculator

However, you KNOW that this is completely predictable BEFORE you sell the item, right?

It's far too often I see people not know how much they can sell their items for BEFORE they sell them, and not know their profit.

How do you know you didn't undersell it? Did you lose money? Make money? Did your format yield the appropriate profit margin?

You're always in the business of maximizing your margins - so be careful with this.

I've seen people put up items, sell it immediately, and think: "Did I underprice it?" Or, put it on eBay and relist it 10 times before lowering the price 10 times before it eventually sells.

That hurts - because ALL of that is predictable - how much it WILL sell for at the maximum price, and what format yields it - as well as your margins.

It was a high quality laptop bag I found for £6 and sold for £20. The highest price I saw was £28. I have sold a few items before but havent been that concerned about the exact amount. I didnt think it would sell so quickly.

Today I found a Fendi handbag for £6 on my lunch break at work. I will check it fully this time. Hopefully I can £40. But Amazon is so easy compared to ebay.
