Hi,

I'm form India, I have a Ecommerce site which sells shoes to US customers. I used to have paypal payment but run into a wall now. To be clear the dropshipper is also from US and I just operate from India. When one of my customers asked for a refund bcoz the item went out of stock paypal placed restrictions on my site and asking me to provide invoices, supplier info, business license to remove the limitation. I dont have invoice since the transaction dint go through and I dont have a business license. How do I go about this? Is there any way I can resolve this or create new account in paypal? or any other alternatives payment gateways which let me continue the current process or should I do any registrations or bank account creation in US to further the business? I'm a simple start-up and don't have much investment. Kindly help me by point me in the right direction please.

Maybe look into doing invoices and sort a business license out.

        You need stripe.com
Funds take 7 days to get to your account, but all you need to start is a bank account. The was a service on this forum offering registering llc + us bank account.

Your issue will always be, you are an international vendor doing business in the US. If you do not have a US, Canadian or Irish bank account, you can't use Stripe. Your best bet is to find an international payment processor that will allow you to accept US dollars and deposit them offshore.

Otherwise, you need to open an US based business with a US bank account. The hard part is because of KYC and Patriot Act, you have to have a physical location in the US now for most banks to even consider letting you open a bank account.

As others have said, there are ways of opening a business if you are foreign but I can't pretend to know more then what I have written.

            Hi,
Thanks for advice guys. So I need to have a bank account in US and LLC registration, the thing is there are so many online companies which offer this service and each of them vary their price. I don't know whom to trust or what the procedure of registering LLC, creating bank account and filing taxes every month after that. Can you guys point me to someone who does this and is trustworthy?

I will create the bank account and register the company in 2 months max, can I use paypal as intermediate for these 2 months? I need to know if I can make sustainable profit in this niche before spending money on registration and bank account creation. Thank you for your replies

    Hi.

Going with only paypal for an ecommerce website was not a good idea. Sooner or later, this was to happen. Saying that, you can open an international US account even if you are in India via HSBC bank or Citi bank. KYC norms in the US post 9/11 have become very-very strict so while it is possible but it is case to case basis.

But all these are temporary solution. If you really intent to run your business in long term get a international business account, tie up with someone in US so that this payment issue is resolved and get proper invoices for all your transactions.
