Good question. Usually most drop shipping programs are not well setup. Lets use chinabuye.com as an example. Chinabuy.com is a eCommerce site that sells practically everything from china. They sell from china and ship from china. In order to be in their drop ship program, you simply send them an email and post one of their products on ebay so they can check. After that your in the program. Your price doesn't change so really your over selling their product to make a profit. 99% of the websites are exactly like this.

What you are looking for is called a Joint Venture. This is where you partner with a company. You sell their product at a discounted price in order to make a profit. The usual
negotiating is zero in the beginning. After a few thousand in sales then you can negotiate. You want to look for companies like this. A clear sign of a drop shipping company like this example charges to be in their program. If you are serious about making money, you want to look into these. There are a few and trial and error will have to be your growing pains.

How do I know? I run my own program. You can see the example here in the forum joint venture classifieds: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-products.html

Thanks for this info. I'm specifically talking about private individuals who have never drop shipped before. I'd like to put together some sort of agreement. Wondering if anyone has done this before.

I do NCDC agreements with my drop shippers. Its a non compete clause. This is the safest. It pretty much states that you have to sell your suppliers product and cannot sell a competitors similar product.

First off..i am just a "lurker" for a while here..but have a high interest in maybe dropshipping and plus building my own products in a few Niche's i know well...

This contract you speek of..if someones agrees to it..and sooner or later finds the same type of product at the same quality or better and a cheeper price point comes up..can the seller just quit your product and stop selling it?..or is this some sort of binding contract to forbid anyone from leaving you and going elsewhere if it doesn't work out?

My contract says even if you stop the program you cannot sell a competing product. You can quit the program. If you do you can not sell any 'similiar' products. For example, if another company copies my cable idea and you signed a NCDC with me, you can never sell my competitions product.
