I hold a full time job and have not much insight into maintaining site. I have got two sites built for me - one of them is still in works while other is hosted...

I want to add more articles and features to the site but dont know how. I will provide the articles and pics for posting. I want someone to work on the site on a weekly basis (or twice a week) to update the site with new articles, optimize it for SEO etc.,

The person who built the site quoted a very high fees and I cannot pay that when site is not making money yet...I will do SEO and all later once the site is at decent point...

I found a person who is building my second site due to the recommendations of WF members and he is awesome...I am hoping you guys will come to rescue with some good recommendations (affordable not to mention)...this time too...thanks all...

Well anyone building a site for you should at least give you an hour walk through on how to maintain the site and add things to it. Unfortunately, you don't tell us, what are they built in? Are they ecommerce sites? Are they informational sites? What platform/CMS are they using?

Unfortunately these are not set it and forget it businesses (despite what people tell you) so you will need to learn these either through instruction or at the very least searching on youtube. Tell us what they are built in and we can give you better advice.

This doesn't track well, my friend. If you want a productive site, I imagine it is certainly possible to do by getting someone to do all of the work. But I imagine it may someday leave you right back in the boat you're currently floating in... If you want to realize any real success with your endeavor, and provide yourself with some lasting mental-security, then just take on the task of learning how to do these things on your own. Just my personal opinion. YMMV.

If you won't learn how to do it yourself, and you can't afford to pay someone for quality work (and you will find that you often get what you pay for, so don't settle for less than quality work) then you may never find the very success you seem to be searching for.

I suggest you take OnlineStoreHelp's advice and learn about your site so that you can make it a success and keep all the rewards for yourself.

I think you have been given very solid advice already! But to go further, I can tell you that the shortest route will be to get a handle on it yourself even though it may look tough at first! The platform used in building your site is what matters here! They all have different learning curves, and I may say that wordpress is the easiest of all! And since you obviously built your site in order to make some money off it, then it would be a wise investment to know how to update it! It really isn't rocket science! Cheers!

Thank you guys. I have got some very good advice...thank you...

The site is on wordpress. I agree with some of the comments stating that I have to learn to maintain...I will start doing that now (I was maybe trying to avoid that...)

Anyone know any source that I can learn wordpress with SEO from? I saw few videos on youtube but they dont tell you how to optimize your articles for SEO...(maybe my question does not sound bright as I do not have much experience with sites, yet).

Most likely if you had someone build it in wordpress, you will have most of your onsite SEO factors already done. Things like SEO friendly URL's, Meta-tags, etc.

So, instead of trying to "optimize" your articles, you need to just provide a ton of value to the customer. Don't worry about keyword density, just write for value to the end user.

Also, make sure you have well filled out product descriptions. This in itself can help a ton in your rankings. I have seen too many e-commerce sites with 1 and 2 word descriptions. Full descriptions, with H1, H2 etc.

Adding to the comparison shopping engines. Lots of free ones, just not sure how you connect with those on wordpress.

I would agree with this - the content of the article is absolutely important. There is a counter arguement that with today's short attention spans/competition online, you should A/B test the hell out of everything you do to make sure you get the maximum ROI. Sites like Upworthy, BusinessInsider, Buzzfeed etc are leading the way in this regard.
