How do I approach businesses about drop shipping

I am interested in starting a drop shipping website that combines a lot of products from a variety of sites. How do I go about finding out if they will drop ship for me? Do I just go directly to all the different vendors for this and ask them? I wanted to ask a wrestling supply company that already has numerous vendors to drop ship for me, would that be the ideal thing to do or go right to the sources? I am assuming that I would be responsible for loading every product that I will drop ship for on the website or would the company provide those details.

I understand what drop shipping is, and I have a pretty good idea for a large store, but have no idea of how to go about putting it together on the product side of things.

    Your margin would be better going direct to vendors, but going to the supplier would be a lot less work for an easy start. I would try asking the supplier if I were you and see if they can generate a spreadsheet with all product pricing & info on it. If they also have imagery that's a huge plus if not just find it elsewhere on the web.

    You have to find the right company. Alot of the drop shipping sites now call drop shipping, 'shipping blind' or ship without company info on the package, yet the price is not lower than their regular price. Therefore you are competing against them because you have to put a margin above their price.

    You want to find a vendor where you get a heavy discount off their price so you and the vendor can share the market and make money. They are harder and harder to find. They are out there but you have to really sell yourself on volume with promises ect.
