Anyone know where I can get a real wholesale diamond jewely supply?

I have been looking at some diamond jewelry listings on eBay and trying to figute out where they get their supplies from as the prices I see in most listings are pretty low compared to what I see elsewhere. But as hard as i try, I can't find any supplies that would allow me to resell. A listing for 'wholesale diamond jewelry' on Google brings up retail vendors or maybe discount vendors if i am lucky.

Does anyone know where I can find real wholesale diamond jewelry dealers?

    Hi Tim,

If they are very cheap it is possible the products are actually cubic zirconia.

Don't forget that some people are happy to describe cubic zirconia as diamonds, because chemically they are identical.

    Regards,

I am interested in what you have to offer. I did just line up one supplier that will drop ship for me. They have some really nice, and expensive stuff that I think I can make a small percentage profit from, which would still be a substantial amount. I mean hundreds and even thousands of dollars per order.

But I am open to hear what you can line up for me. You can PM me if you want.

New York City Diamond District would be your best bet. There are 100s of jewlers all competing against each other so they are constantly undercutting each other. They also do loose diamonds from untouched to princess cut.

I just can't see people buying jewellery on eBay. Don't most people want to see the diamond, setting, grade etc in person.

Believe it or not, they do it. I sold a few pieces, but my supplier disappeared.

Bottom line is that you are not going to find it.
I know, I grew up in the industry, my family is in the industry and the bottom line is they will not sell to you wholesale until you build an incredible relationship. (I'm in the Los Angeles Jewelry District)

    Having said that, try polygon.net

do you want to buy inventory? or is your expertise in online sales? I'd just canvas a bunch of different suppliers to sell off of their inventory online for a nice cut.

I did that back in the day 80's-90's selling gold jewelry w/ some suppliers at a showroom mart in atlanta and made a nice pile. through trial and error you'll get to wholesale prices.

For customers who wanted diamonds, I just had a relationship w/ a couple jewelers that would take care of the customer and give me a nice cut. Same with Rolex watches and Patek Philipe watches. I made some great money w/out any costs and warranty/return issues.

Tim I represent a wholesale diamond+diamond ring supplier.
The problem with diamonds is we offer a 30 day money back guarantee
It normally takes 7days to make and dispatch the ring.
I dont know how these 2 things factor in with ebay and or You
I dont see anyone beating our prices (very large range of diamonds) plus direct contact with merchants.
We also have great images and video of our product.
If you have time drop me a pm
    Andrew

If I was doing this, here is how I would do this. Since you live in Vancouver this should be very possible.

Canvas the local jewelry stores and find out if any, which ones also act as a diamond wholesaler. Many times there is a retail and wholesale component to local jewelry stores. If they are GIA trained, even better.

Find out if he will either consign or hold inventory that can be sold. If so, get to work.

Get a small lightbox from Amazon, a tripod for your iPhone or smartphone, a macro lens attachment and start taking photographs. Have a logo built, an ink stamp made with it and get some beautiful jewelry boxes and stamp your logo on the top. As it sells, pick up, package, insure and have the jeweler give a certification (if they are certified to provide it).

You will get better margins, less overhead and build a brand versus just selling diamonds cheap.
