eCommerce for WP sales page - do I need one, and which to choose?

I am planning to set up a sales page which only sells one physical product, but offers several quantities (1 box, 3 boxes, 6 boxes etc). I would need to maintain customer records, create shipping documents and packing slip, as well as generate one or two emails to the customer.

I am thinking of a layout similar to this site:
Miracle Garcinia Cambogia
(try to go through the order process).

I am used to using Wordpress - what plugins would you use?

I would most definitely use WooCommerce. We tried all ecommerce solutions over here and WooCommerce beats them all.

But isn't WooCommerce a total overkill for my needs - a "simple" sales page vs a full blown ecommerce platform with shopping carts etc.

The big downside I see with WooCommerce is the high cost of all the plugins you need to get to set up each feature.

Isn't there some plugin or other package specifically geared to fulfill my particular need?

Woocommerce would be overkill, if it weren't for this:
I would need to maintain customer records, create shipping documents and packing slip, as well as generate one or two emails to the customer

Woocommerce extensions can handle all that.

Thanks again, everyone - really, it's appreciated!

After a couple days of googling I am starting to realise what I'm missing in my (still imaginary) setup:

Order tracking software allowing me to have a database of orders, forward them to a dropshipper/order fulfillment partner with a packing slip and customer adress along with shipping information. I've looked at ShipWorks, StitchLabs, ShipStation amongst other things. So, this is about combining shipping/logistics with the sales bit.

I am still skeptical to Woocommerce - I think it's good quality - but similar to a few of its WP ecommerce competitors it seems you have to purchase plenty of addon plugins which will boost the setup to 500-1000 usd. Or maybe I'm wrong - which plugins would I need given my requirements above?

Any good resources on this topic (review sites etc, guides, A vs B comparisons etc) are most welcome!

With time, you will discover that you might need even more. ^^

It might cost you some money to get the needed add-ons but at least, for most of them, they exist regarding WooCommerce.

I see your point, and yes it's relatively easy to create a "simple" sales page using a regular page with a PayPal form and "Buy Now" button, but you won't be able to maintain customer records, create shipping documents and packing slips, as well as generating one or two emails to the customer, except those automatically sent by PayPal.

Well regardless of whether or not Woocommerce is overkill, if you need the information you need (shipping data, customer records, etc), you will end up adding on more than you need to be able to collect it.

having said that, I wouldn't use WP/Woo. I would use a cart specifically created for these types of sales. Reason being you WILL end up buying every single bit of functionality you need for Woo Commerce and as you build a business, you'll need more back end management than you can get with Woo, and using Woo will be cumbersome.

For example, you might need to deal with returns, partial shipments, cancelations, etc., integration of a shipping software/platform or fulfillment center, and WooCommerce... I like it for some things but running the back end of a business through it is a bit cumbersome. So then if you are using WooCommerce, you will need YET ANOTHER system for better, more streamlined, back end management.

Thanks Malia - it is partly my worry about the procedures "behind the scenes" - shipping, order tracking, returns etc - which makes me anticipate that WooCommerce will end up being expensive.

Maybe it is logistics software I should be looking at?

There are of course some functionalities which don't come with it as a base but keep in mind that other softwares don't have the same developer base, and when they lack a feature or a functionality, it ends up much more expensive for that one feature than a whole website with WooCommerce and all the features you need.

Having said this, I would add, write down all your needs and then compare what it would cost you using different solutions.

    Cordially, IntMarketers.

Yeah, if you're staying on the Wordpress platform, I would have to recommend Woocommerce—it's built for ecommerce and Wordpress—job done!

Amazon repricing software that helps you win the Buy Box more often. eBay repricing also available.

Nice to see all the above comments. Really appreciable. But, According to my personal opinion, for an eCommerce business, I would like to prefer Opencart and Magento according to my needs. For an example, suppose, If I think to start an ecommerce business in a simple way, then I would like to prefer Opencart and if I need heavy platform, then I use Magento.
