Hi all warrior

I am looking for your suggestion, what is the best way to generate traffic for my online shop? I'm selling roasted and unroasted arabica and robusta coffee.

Currently, I use google adwords to generate some traffic, yes, it's the fastest way to get traffic, but, due to my very limited budget (I only can allocate $3-$4 budget per day ), so if my balance low, I will not get visitor to my website.

My conversion also is not good.

So, I am thingking about the other methods to drive more targetted traffic to my online shop.

What is the best source for new online shop?
Should I create twitter account, and looking for targetted people, then follow them?
Or should I buy facebook ads too?
Or should I hire someone to help me sell this stuff on ebay? (I don't know how to sell on ebay, I don't have CC)

Please give me suggestion.

Thank you

I am not sure what your CPC is but with a low conversion rate you are probably throwing $$$ away.

If your conversion rate is low then focus on improving that first. After you make adjustments and get your conversion rate high enough then your Adwords spend will produce a positive ROI. That means you will be able to get more conversions with less traffic.

Coffee is a competitive niche so it will take a lot of work but it definitely can be done.

    Hi there,

I actually have a friend who has just launched a new t-shirt brand in Australia and have recently given him some advice about how to get targeted buyers to his website.

If your using PPC (google adwords) and still wish to explore this method, I would switch over to Bing Ads. I find them more user friendly and better support. I would also suggest choosing "buyer" keywords. You don't want to choose broad keywords as this just may attract people who wish to browse your website - you want buyers so select some keywords related to terms used to buy your product/s.

I would definitely get onto all forms of social media - facebook, twitter and google+ are the main ones but there are literally tons - and there free. Set yourself up with all of these free social media outlets and start approaching pages in the same niche as yours - follow people that are interacting on these pages and they are likely to follow you back. This works well with twitter and Goggle+

You can try facebook advertising but I would recommend you get some training first - if done well, this can definitely work. If not done well, you can blow your budget.Much the same as Google adwords or Bing ads.

You could try writing articles and submitting them to all the directories and having a link that points back to your site.

There are literally hundreds of free traffic methods - too many to list and go explain (in detail) here.

I would suggest looking out for some traffic products on Warrior. There's lots out there and they are generally very cheap.

Good luck and I hope I helped a little.

      Hi

      Thank you for your answer.

I never try Bing, since it's not very popular in my country.

I think I will try adwords display network, and set to pay per impression. Is it good?

Yup I will try facebook ads too, since it's 2nd popular website on my country.

    Hi kocenghabok,

I would suggest opening a seller's account on eBay, so you don't have to worry about advertising your website. I use Worldwide Accessories: Online Shopping - Phones, Tablets, Gadgets, & more to Drop Ship products from that site onto eBay, and so far it has been working out fantastic!

    Good Luck!

Coffee would be an easy niche to target social media for. You can share information about how it's grown, harvested, roasted, brewed. Share recipes that use coffee.

Pinterest would be a good one for sharing images and recipes. You can also do it with facebook and Google+. And of course, they are all free they just take some of your time.

Do strong online promotion activities and awareness generating programs around your product offerings. A focused social media campaign will help you reach target market at ease. To get an initial grip, consider launching paid campaigns, once stabilized you can continue with regular online campaigns.

For PPC I recommended using facebook ads because you can target more specific people that suite your products. Another one is Press Release, Its perfect for driving traffic to new ecommerce website.
    Just my 2 cents

Hmm... Roasted and unroasted arabica and robusta coffee. If you're the brand owner, I would suggest using facebook to look for AGENTS vs trying to hustle your way to sell to new retail customers everyday.

If you are on budget than you should first try free ways to get traffic. Best way is forum posting, social media engagement (Pinterest, Facebook,...) and speaking long term: gathering emails and promoting your offer via email marketing campaigns.

I am not so sure about Twitter. There are better SM out there for your niche, especially Facebook.

Try social media campaigns. Post in Facebook groups for coffee lovers interesting posts about coffee such as "Did you know that...?".

Set up an Instagram page and keep posting daily content to define your brand.

Definitely go for Pinterest. Coffee is a true culture and everybody loves it, so it should be easy to raise awareness if you go for the right approach.

    Hi,

What I would do is create campaigns that target the market you want and then build an opt in list with those people. That way you can keep sending traffic to your e-commerce site which hightens the chance to make A sale!

I'm surprised no one has said blogging yet!

Blogging is a super cost-effective way to generate traffic to an eCommerce site -- but it's important that you approach this the right way.

Starting a blog just about your company and its new inventory isn't really going to win you any hearts and minds.

But blogging about the niche in which your business sits is a GREAT way to build trust and authority.

You're running a coffee site -- that's PERFECT. Start a blog about coffee! (Heck, I'd read it.) It's a great way to connect with your audience, and you can throw some native advertising in there.

REALLY, though, what blogging does is work absolute wonders in terms of SEO. Publishing well-put-together, informative content on your site regularly does great things for your search results.

Hope this helps! I'm more than happy to talk about this and how you can execute it for your site, if you'd like.

In your case the best solution will be Adwords. Also you must understand that you can make money online in two cases - either you have enough budget or you have knowledges. Ideally - both.

And yes -- the other information in this thread is great. Adwords and things like that will definitely help you get traffic.

Often, blogging is a no- or low-cost way to help market your website and your business. Heck, if you've got a keen eye for the written word (and enough time), you can totally do it yourself. Even so, a blogger/marketing hired gun can be worked out for a very affordable rate (and I say that speaking from experience).

If you've got some money to toss around, though, it's definitely smart to invest in some marketing/advertising tactics that can more or less guarantee you results in a direct sort of way.

The easiest and most expensive way is search advertising; it's proven to work and most of the big retailers spend millions of marketing dollars doing this. It's also something that you might need to outsource to get best ROI.

Less expensive and as effective is email marketing. Setup a free account with Mailchimp or a similar service and build up your list with customer's permission of course.

The other suggestion I'd make is content; social media and most importantly, a blog. It's time consuming to produce great content but many of today's largest ecommerce companies were built on content.

There's many more ways in both digital and offline marketing but these three are key IMO.

Firstly read this Google AdWords. Some consultants we know ran some tests and came to the same conclucsion, as an sme Adwords is now basically useless. Then you get to the subject of business seo or technical seo, all smes will use business seo to rank which equals time so read this Is Google really leaning more toward big sites with authority like Amazon, Walmart, which makes small medium e-commerce sites harder to compete in organic search? - Vanquish Consulting - it is now much worse. The enterprise companies use combined business seo & technical seo which is why they can rank first page with pr0. Then you can read these FPC module breaks sites - what are the alternatives? and Magento Page Speed. After that get a good bottle of something and have a sleep on it. The conclusion is very simple - the barriers to entry are worse and getting worse by the year, so either go niche with authority & trust or go big with authority & trust - the rest will (with the odd exception) drain your cash, time and sanity.
